I looked into it. You can buy the pens straight from their factory in Taiwan so shipping costs remain quite low. Message TWSBI on facebook for more details.

The only authorized retailer of TWSBI pens in India is Pensavenue.com. But, the problem is they charge two and half times more than its' international selling price. I will recommend andersonpens or gouletpens for TWSBI. Both of them ship internationally at cheap rate.

Now, if you are still thinking of buying TWSBI in India, then I will suggest not to spend Rs 9,000 on TWSBI 580. Infact, you can think of a much better and more balanced Pilot Custom Heritage 92. It has 14K solid gold nib with durable section. It should be available under US$120 with shipping to India. Or alternatively, you can contact Raul from Pune who is counterpart of Engeika, a reputed Japanese seller. He might quote this pen on higher side. But, he also considers reasonable offer.

In my opinion, TWSBI 580 is good choice only if you are getting it at its' international selling price but not for Rs 9,000.

Better still get a Pilot VP

I put my savings to test

Lamy & Pilot FPs the Best

No more I even think of the rest

(Preference Fine and Extra Fine Nibs)

Pen is meant for writing - not for looking :-)

I do have a TWSBI Diamond 580 (F) that i got from UK, however TWSBIs are available in Mumbai, dunno the price though. Not a very smooth writer but puts out quite a fine line.

BTW i agree with Anupji about calling for a VP, writes like a dream!

There is no doubt Pilot VP is a good choice. But, I must say it is not everyone's cup of tea because of positioning of its' clip. I suggest to feel it in hand first before buying it. The other smaller issue with this pen is that it is using con50 which a very less ink capacity.

I have both, Vac 700 and Diamond 580. Vac 700 is far better pen than Diamond 580 and costs more. But it has a better and bigger no 6 nib, good balance and has solid build quality and nice feel in hand compared to Diamond 580. It is easier to clean too.

I don't have Vac mini. I do not like to post the pens. Also Vac mini has smaller nib like Eco so it is No for me.
