Haha, thank you! And you're noticing the alphabetical advantage accomplished by naming your company with the first letter :)

I thought that might be it, but you have to weasel out any advantage you can in life....

Very thorough post. I'm starting to search for a black I like, so this is very useful. Thanks.

Good work. I use a lot of black ink at work. I also like to use the almost-but-not-quite blacks like Noodler's Zhivago.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

Good job!!!

My experience with black inks is rather limited. I was a long-time user of Quink black, but I also have some Blackstone (AKA Susemai) black, which holds its blackness rather well, even when diluted. Then I got some Kiwa-Guro in some Sailor cartridges from Japan, and I though, wow, now THAT is BLACK! Glad to see my totally non-expert opinion confirmed :D I shall have to get a bottle to continue refilling the cartridges.

My arsenal, in order of acquisition: Sailor 21 Pocket Pen M, Cross Solo M, Online Calligraphy, Monteverde Invincia F, Hero 359 M, Jinhao X450 M, Levenger True Writer M, Jinhao 159 M, Platinum Balance F, TWSBI Classic 1.1 stub, Platinum Preppy 0.3 F, 7 Pilot Varsity M disposables refillables, Speedball penholder, TWSBI 580 USA EF, Pilot MR, Noodler's Ahab 1.1 stub, another Preppy 0.3, Preppy EF 0.2, ASA Sniper F, Click Majestic F, Kaweco Sport M, Pilot Prera F, Baoer 79 M (fake Starwalker), Hero 616 M (fake Parker), Jinhao X750 Shimmering Sands M . . .

31 and counting :D

Very nice and amazing work! Thank you.

Nodler's bullet proof shows some nice feathering. This might be "the next one", with my Kaweco Liliput I fall in love with (I'll call it "my last one" to my wife who will be certainly puzzled about this idea of buying another FP). Thi sblack, unless I found a copper, brown or similar color bullet proof.

Thanks for your time.

Thanks for telling about Sailor Kiwa Guro & Platinum Nano Black. I would love to try these

whenever they become available here.

Personally I like Iroshi Take Sumi for it's silken flow. Before that I liked Private Reserve Velvet

Black a lot but in hot Indian climate it used to clog the pen.

A few months ago I got Mont Blanc Permanent Black from Germany. This is the blackest black

that I have. Absolutely waterproof too but is a little hard. Won't go in whatever pen. Finicky.

Running smooth in my H-M nibbed Sailor Pro Gear finally.

Thanks for this. I'll be looking into the Platinum Carbon Black.

Thanks for the compliments, folks! I'm happy that these are useful to other people, too.

Those pigmented blacks are just perfectly black. Nothing else comes close.

Oh, man, I love my Brass Liliput--though it's dedicated to my favorite color, Private Reserve Blue Suede. If you would prefer something with less feathering, I might suggest one of the pigmented blacks (Sailor Kiwa-guro or Platinum Carbon).

I haven't had the chance to sample many Montblanc inks; I'll have to throw a few in with my next order at AndersonPens.
