My Sheaffer Craftsman with a capital A carved in the barrel is my Ugly Duckling. And I love it just as much as my other babies.

It is a Rotring Core. I also have one that is a rollerball with an orange and gray cap.

I had two Rotring Cores. I thought they were cool-looking, and they were great writers. Not ugly at all, just different.

 

I'm having a hard time saying what my ugliest pen is, as I wouldn't buy a pen if I thought it was ugly. Yeah, even with a great nib. Too many gorgeous pens with great nibs.

 

I'll say that my Hardtmuth Studio is beat-up, discolored, and so on, but it's a great pen with an amazing vintage steel nib that flexes. Ugly? Nope. Just not as pretty as my modern pens.

The ugliest thing about this pen is the hideous color. :sick: It's a cross between snot and institutional green. Unfortunately, it writes great. I just can't stand to look at it long enough to use it.

 

My sympathies! (I'm gonna have to skip lunch now)
