Cross Spire Fountain Pen Leakage Problem.

ac12, that's sort of what Ive been pondering. I've wondered though, if the plastic of the cartridge will really 'hold' the shellac. It seem like the sort of oily, non-stick plastic (which would make sense given that ink is supposed to flow out of it) that may not hold. I was thinking I'd try adding a step of scoring or 'roughening' the surface of the cartridge?

 

I'll experiment and let you know how it goes. At the moment, I've only got the one cartridge, so I'll grab a couple more and get tinkering!

Sorry R, I tried to repair my leak by modifying one and it did not work. All others I sent back to Cross for a refund along work the pen. Cross and I have diverted paths, just bought a montegrappa Espressione older model with an 18k solid nib. I do not understand why the new ones come with a SS nib
