How awesome would it be if Troy finds out he could really get into fountain pens?

Let the learning begin.

I've heard that some ebay sellers make a great deal of profit via ebay... not sure if they are selling restored pens or just using hammers and melting out the gold (maybe that was prior months though as gold is a bit lower in value currently). If you do use the hammer you should film it and tweet it / youtube it. I've heard google adwords can also result in a nice income

Nib aside, which we now know is not worth discussing further, what model is the pen ? I think it looks like a 5** series.

It looks like it might be from the 1940's Commando line of pens, according to the pictures on Binder's site.

That would have been my other suggestion but there was some discussion here a while back on what is the difference between a 515 (5**) and a Commando...

I don't get it - another bidder with ZERO feedback bidding up to $3200 for a pen/nib worth around $300, generously speaking. This pen must have some sort of jinx on it that attracts.....fools! (Or Troy has an enemy lurking on eBay just waiting to ruin his auctions! :P)

I wonder if somebody doesn't have it put for this particular seller and is levying some for of punishment. Regardless it looks to be another ghost buyer working their magic.

Not a music nib but I drooled over this eBay offering and probably worthy of it's own thread. A Silver '52, box and papers, mint and full flex. No affiliation but this guy knows how to advertise. Check out the photos.

i showed this ad to a friend of mine and he grabbed it ;)

this person on FPN (no relation to me I just saw it on classifieds) has a much better pen that is supposedly mint for less than a third of the price https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/classifieds/item/32427-waterman-42-ripple-music-nib/

so I wouldn't worry about ebay...

Check out my blog and my pens
