Just Bought A Desiderata Flex Pen. What Should I Know?

I just bought the last available Desiderata Mercury flex pen. It's purple heart and cherry wood, not my ideal combination, but I didn't want to miss out on owning of these beauties. I also threw in a tin-coated zebra G and Nemosine B nibs. There is very little on FPN about these pens. What should I know?

 

BTW, I've been using a dip pen for the past month or so, just long enough to know it's something I want to pursue. My other pens are a Lamy 2000 EF/F, a Conklin Crescent-Filler 25 and a soon-to-arrive (hopefully) Sheaffer Balance .40 stub.

Great pen, as expected the nibs will corrode over time. Taking the time to clean the pen when not in use will prolong their life.

the Titanium G nibs will last longer... and they arent Tin plated but Chrome plated so they actually last longer

Perhaps it is titanitum. I'm going by Pierre's page here. Perhaps his TiN should simply read Ti. In fact, that's likely as Ti is more resistant to corrosion than tin.

ahh yeah so it is the Titanium plated ones indeed they will last longer than the chrome plated ones the chrome plated ones already last long enough

While that is a great thread, it is a different pen than the one I bought (eyedropper vs internal sac). I have read it and the one review on here of the pen I did get (the Mercury), which seems to be an earlier version that is somewhat different from the ones recently available.

 

I didn't mean to imply there is nothing of Desiderata pens on FPN, simply that I'd like to hear from other D. Mercury pen owners.
