Inky T O D - Which 12 Inks?

As you know, FPN will be making an appearance through Amber at the LA Pen Show. At the the pen show, I will have the FPN exclusive inks and maybe a brand new ink - read about that here. I will have pens inked with the four FPN inks for people to try. So don't add those suggestions.

In addition the the pens loaded with FPN inks, ArtsNibs.com has sent me a dozen pens for me to use to show off inks. Now, my collection is not as vast as many of my fellow FPNers, but I have some pretty cool inks including the Blackstone/Susemai and KWZI samples some Akkerman Inks, some Sailor inks, a few J Herbins and some wonderful Noodler's...oh and some vintage powdered inks.

So, what 12 inks should I load up in the pens Art sent?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Based on a letter I just received from Alaric, I added BSB to one. Other suggestions? Maybe Tears of A Clown?

KWZI ...

  • IG Gold
  • IG Mandarin
  • IG Turquoise

BlackStone ...

  • Red Cashmere
  • Blue Cashmere
  • Green Cashmere (I am confident it will come back)

Honestly, if it was me, I will only ink my pens with the FPN inks, KWZI and BlackStone inks.

I do love Sailor inks... but I am quite certain Sailor does not need our help marketing their ink. ;)

I will rather see you giving the Fountain Pen Crowd a thrill using inks that are not well known and have such great promise. :D

My suggestions are probably pretty predictable, but here goes anyway...

I might add some of the more intense Rhorer & Klingner inks, e.g., Soferino and Blu Mare. If sheen is desirable, then Yama-budo and Rouge Hematite. And tried-and-true Ancient Copper could be fun. Oh, and the de Atramentis wine ink that you are lucky enough to have found --St. Laurent, is it?

I have two invisible inks....

I am out of Saint Laurent, but may have another sample of a Wine ink around here.

I like the idea of taking hard to find inks.

You should ink one up with Dromgoole's Blue Steel. All must hear of it's awesomeness.

I'm glad you recieved my letter. :)

I'll try and do scans after I ink up, but you may have to wait until I get there...depends on how much I get done in the next two days.

BSB's reputation is way over exaggerated. Aside from staining, I've had no issues with it. My only complaint is that it looks purple to my eyes at night! Amber, I just mailed a letter to you today addressed in BSB on the Southworth envelopes that shade.

My samples gone. I need to get some more. I'm trying to actually use up all of my samples, but they seem to be never ending.
