Cracked Estie Cap

MajesticPens

Recommended Posts

So, I dropped my Easterbrook LJ down a flight of stairs. Then this happened:

More info in the crack:
-goes all the way around
-I can't close the cap tightly
-inner cap seems to be intact
-material is Pearl Grey

Can this terrible crack be fixed?

Please Help!

A fountain pen a day keeps the ballpoints away!

Signed,

It can, but it might just be cheaper to replace the cap. Esterbrook plastic responds to the same solvents as celluloid, though a couple of them are pretty toxic.

My near-sightedness, uncorrected, is down to about 3" max. Usually a very good thing in pen work. That one solvent is making me think about wearing my full-face CPAP mask during crack and divot repair.
