Stolen Pens Alert

I want to alert the community about a group of fountain pens that was recently stolen from my house in the San Francisco Bay Area (Peninsula). If you see any of them offered for sale (especially as a group), please let me know and I will alert the local authorities. This is a partial list of what was taken:

 

Pelikan M805 (black w/silver trim) F custom 14K nib

Pelikan M800 green with silver gold plated guilloche cap M nib

Aurora Asia Limited edition M nib

ST Dupont Orpheo, lacquer body, platinum plated cap, M nib

Pilot (Namiki) Custom 823 Smoke demonstrator M nib

Sailor 1911 Sterling, M 24K nib

While this won't help you get your pens back, perhaps you could supply a little more details about the theft.

 

Was your house/office broken in to, and the pens were incidental to other items stolen?

 

Or did the thief specifically target the pens?

 

I presume the second case limits the number of people who would know enough to look for fine pens.

Wasn't the other person who had a lot of pens stolen a few months ago also in the Bay area? I seem to recall near Stanford...Maybe this is the same pen thief.

UC Berkeley. Pens were taken from an office. There is a thread here about it somewhere.

Sorry to hear about your pens. I'm surprised a burglar would know that pens are worth taking.

It sounds like it's someone you know at least peripherally. Otherwise how would they know they were in your office? I hope you get them back. Can the police expend their time in investigating or are they so busy they'll get back to you if they hear something?

Burglars don't need to know that pens are worth something, pens can be in a safe, or in a drawer and thieves just grab everything that looks attractive. Peninsula region of the Bay Area has recently had a string of house burglaries.

Perhaps there is an advantage after all to living where no one but me knows a fountain pen from a waffle iron.
