Hi,

I have a vintage Hungarian pen what needs re-tipping.

As I know Goldnibs are somewhere in EU, but is there any other option?
Experiences with goldnibs.com would be appreciated as well!

GoldNibs is located in Spain, Madrid, perhaps. Also, check out Max at www.maxpens.de

Or just PM Max using the FPN PM system. Max is a member here on FPN, his username is "Maxpens"

As far as I know goldnibs can only do basic tips and these well. The M tip I got onto one of my vintage nibs writes indeed so good, that I did not modify it. The flex of the nib works also well after retipping.

i have used Goldnibs for 20+ nibs to date, including some that are currently pictured on their before and after page. Quick turnaround, good comms, and a decent end product.

They can do none standard nibs, check out the little video of a Parker 51 music nib that is on the site.

I have used goldnibs for retipping and repair of cracks. They were quick, easy to communicate with and very good in their job. My only advise to you is to see if you could send them the whole pen and ask them to re insert nib and feed after the repair. Sometimes reinserting the nib to the section can be difficult.

Thank you so much everyone! It really helped!
I'll think no further and choose goldnibs. Hopefully I can send the pen out soon!
I'm planning to send the whole pen, but as I know the nib just pulls out, so it might not be that complicated.

My tip is from Spain, but not from Goldnibs. So everything I wrote is not about Goldnibs and I can't say anything positive or negative about them.

The Mentmore nib pictured on the website was sent by me mistakenly. I was sorting a few nibs to send. I had 1 pile to scrap that I thought beyond repair and I must have put the Mentmore in the wrong pile. I was baffled when Carlos said he was having a bit more trouble with the Mentmore. I could have bought about 4 complete pens for the cost of the repair but it just shows the talent of the repairer.

I've used Gold Nibs myself for a handful of pens and I can't fault the work, price or communication. I had a particularly mangled Duofold nib that came back better than it left the factory I imagine!
