I decided to purchase this wrap too , after a bit of hesitation.

Beautiful print of peacock feathers. Same high quality Italian print.

I hesitated because at times , the print looked a bit too 'busy'.

When you stare at it for a longer time and look over closer, it is really very attractive.

Complete with gold trims

I decided to add accents because the motif was a closely repeated pattern, I felt it could afford to accomodate some accents somewhere.

The next part was trying to find a suitable accent colour.

In the end, after trying a few comparisons , the Indian Red bookcloth seemed most compatible ...

Completed ...

Journal 177A "Peacock Feathers" A6 size with TR paper.

This is my 16th TR journal.

Front

With band deployed

I kept to a minimal number of colours.

Only magenta was the accent colour

so I used magenta threads ..

http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/o704/tmleem4/JOURNALS/2013/177%20A5%20Peacock%20Feathers/177A%20Peacock%20Feathers/DSCF2209_zps0e2be61a.jpg

Since this is TR paper, I stitched 6 stations instead of the usual 4.

http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/o704/tmleem4/JOURNALS/2013/177%20A5%20Peacock%20Feathers/177A%20Peacock%20Feathers/DSCF2210_zps1f7bd2f5.jpg

Ribbon was also magenta

http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/o704/tmleem4/JOURNALS/2013/177%20A5%20Peacock%20Feathers/177A%20Peacock%20Feathers/DSCF2212_zps7405e261.jpg

Full spread

http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/o704/tmleem4/JOURNALS/2013/177%20A5%20Peacock%20Feathers/177A%20Peacock%20Feathers/DSCF2214_zpsee419734.jpg

Now seen with the accents ...

the Flyleaves were also selected to closely match the hue on the corner bookcloth accents...

http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/o704/tmleem4/JOURNALS/2013/177%20A5%20Peacock%20Feathers/177A%20Peacock%20Feathers/DSCF2213_zpsf1778a45.jpg

Because this paper was thin and light coloured enough, I used it to make the hinges for the pocket ..

http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/o704/tmleem4/JOURNALS/2013/177%20A5%20Peacock%20Feathers/177A%20Peacock%20Feathers/DSCF2216_zpscb14bf60.jpg

Light can still pass thru ...

http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/o704/tmleem4/JOURNALS/2013/177%20A5%20Peacock%20Feathers/177A%20Peacock%20Feathers/DSCF2218_zpsb4662454.jpg

The inktest page

http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/o704/tmleem4/JOURNALS/2013/177%20A5%20Peacock%20Feathers/177A%20Peacock%20Feathers/DSCF2219_zpsfb625a19.jpg

The Colophon ...

http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/o704/tmleem4/JOURNALS/2013/177%20A5%20Peacock%20Feathers/177A%20Peacock%20Feathers/DSCF2220_zps02c1be56.jpg

For this journal , I decided to explore further the thickness of the entire book ...

I decided to make it slimmer - more elegant ...

TR paper is great in this aspect.

Thin enough to pack in more sheets ...

I stitched with 5 signatures instead of the usual 7.

Here shown side by side one of my earlier TR journals with 7 signatures .

Its significantly slimmer .

http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/o704/tmleem4/JOURNALS/2013/177%20A5%20Peacock%20Feathers/177A%20Peacock%20Feathers/DSCF2223_zps16e560a2.jpg

This is a nice one , :)

Bookblock :

TOMOE RIVER paper , 52g , Cream , supersmooth

5 Signatures , 10 Folios each,

Total 200 writing pages.

Beautiful and unique!

I really like that you used the paper for the hinges on the pocket as well.

Thank you. Glad you like it.

This is Journal 177C "Peacock Feathers" in A6 size.

(sold)

My 18th TR journal.

For this journal , I was experimenting with adding extra accents - here along the spine.

I thought the peacock feather motif was kind of busy.

So I felt it could afford to have some more accents, to reduce the 'busyness'.

Front

http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/o704/tmleem4/JOURNALS/2013/177%20A5%20Peacock%20Feathers/177C%20Peacock%20Feathers/DSCF2224_zps673c06f2.jpg

I decided on contrasting accents - orange threads , flyleaves , ribbon ...

http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/o704/tmleem4/JOURNALS/2013/177%20A5%20Peacock%20Feathers/177C%20Peacock%20Feathers/DSCF2229_zpse873106b.jpg

Becos this is TR paper, I stitched with additional stations. Here 6 instead of the usual 4.

http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/o704/tmleem4/JOURNALS/2013/177%20A5%20Peacock%20Feathers/177C%20Peacock%20Feathers/DSCF2230_zps20febf87.jpg

Linen stitches are nice, but they are thick and cant be compressed flat.

I wish this journal had less 'bulk' from the stitches.

http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/o704/tmleem4/JOURNALS/2013/177%20A5%20Peacock%20Feathers/177C%20Peacock%20Feathers/DSCF2231_zps45bf80e8.jpg

This is so inspirational. I've wanted to make my own journal of mixed papers for a long time but didn't think there were any binding methods I could do without special tools. Thanks for sharing this.

I learned the Coptic stitch as well and used an old Moleskein date planner and filled it with watercolor paper to paint in. It also works nice with brush pens and ink as well.
