I have a friendly pen dealer who gives me the pen cartons of Jinhao. The airmail cartons are the best for larger pens. For my day pens I use a box that originally carried dry fruits as a diwali gift...

you can contact Dr. Ashish wakalu as well. He is a fellow member here and can arrange any customized leather case.

you can also create simple wooden customized boxes using 6-8mm waterproof ply on your own:).

I prefer wooden cigar boxes. it was easily available in connaught place, Delhi area. But, hard to find these days.

Subbu68, the folded sheets are a good idea. For vertical storage test tube stands are good. Cheap too.

Test tube stands are good and they can display the pens in full glory. But how many pens can one hold? And isn't one half wasted because it is for holding test tubes inverted? foot print of these stands will be too large for the capacity.

The can stand i made takes 15 pens and uses only about 3" diameter space. The plastic cases I use are kept vertical on a shelf between a bookend and books.
