Hi Francis, are all Kingsize flat tops the same shape? What I mean is, does the FPN Blue pearl (which is a flattop based on pictures) have the exact same shape as CAISO flattop?

If so, I need to think about CAISO in streamline...

Hi there,

this will be my first bulkfiller and I'm really looking forward to that flat top version.

I'm, however, still a little bit torn between the nib options (ie. titanium or gold), because I have not tried any bock nibs before.

I like nibs smooth and soft and wet, my current favourite beeing the one from the Homo Sapiens Bronze, followed by the Pelikan M1000 and the Sailor KOP.

Any recommandations for me? Just get both?

Thanks,

Andre

I won't have experience with Conid's gold nibs until I receive my CAISO, but I have a lot of experience with their titanium nibs.

They are very soft, not as in springy like gold, but very soft and susceptible to vibrations. You get tons of line variation and probably the smoothest Ti nib on the market. I am going for a gold next, one because I already own a bulkfiller with a Ti nib, and because I'd like a more normal springy nib for something if that caliber. Au us just better for everyday writing, especially for those with heavy hands like me. That doesn't mean Ti isn't more fun or easily useable for everyday writing, just not as much.

Hi all,

Latest news on the status of the CAISO production

The final CAISO design is actually in production at CONID, unfortunately two of the production machines had a breakdown.
One machine is just repaired, but the special CNC lathe - on which the stainless shut-off valve is produced - is still down, but will hopefully be repaired by next week.
This results in the fact availability - initially planned for December 5 - is delayed.
So the CAISO's FPR's will only become available by mid January 2016
Sorry for the
delay, triggered by Murphy's law …...

Very much appreciate the update Francis. Thank you

Please keep us up-to-date when the machinery is fixed and running. Perhaps you could share the odd picture every now and then just to keep us going? ;) Either way, I am really excited to know that the CASIO is nearly with us.

What a great way to start a new year, with a new pen; a new Conid CAISO pen. Can't wait. :)

Pavoni.

Sad to say we will all have to wait a little longer, but you cannot help problems of these sorts. Thank you for letting us know.

Is there a premium to buy a first production run (I assume so)? How long after the FPR before the pen goes into regular production?

I really like the idea of the pen but I'm not a collector looking for a numbered pen.

Hi Mulrich,

Sure, the CAISO system will become available on other Kingsize's - in various materials - in the future.

Note however the numbered FPR series will be sold at the same price as the future non numbered versions.

Meaning there is no extra cost for an numbered FPR pen.

Given the fact a numbered FPR pen is more desirable for collectors, the value of such a pen will surely become higher over time.

Francis

PS : Did you already see my new post -posted today - showing the final design details of the Caiso in this forum?

Will it be possible to option the internals of the LE in black instead of white as with other models and is there any word on pricing yet? Middle of January is getting close!

Hi Edsai17

Sure, the color of the piston can be chosen , black or white..

Latest status is the FPR CAISO demonstrator will be launched on January 25.

I expect final pricing will be added to the Conid website by January 10.

PS: the final CAISO design detail are shown in a video in my later post in this forum, see :

During the Conid day this year, I asked the same question, Francis & Werner explained to many changes have to be made to upgrade a normal kingsize to a CAISO.

Hey, Foutainbel, how about an upgrade program for current Kingsize owners?

During the Conid Day, Werner explained it takes too many changes to upgrade a normal Kingsize to a CAISO.

I am partial to black myself. It matches the O-rings and lends for a cleaner appearance.

Thanks for pointing out the tentative pricing.

I have been drooling over Conids for a couple of years now and still trying to decide which one. This one is a strong contender.

sorry if this is asked a lot, is this pen still available or are all of them sold already?

Hi sidewinder,

The numbered Kingsize FPR CAISO demonstrator series will become available for sale January 25.

As far as i remember there will be 60 flat top versions and 60 streamline versions, so there are surely still CAISO"s available

Prices and details will be implemented on the CONID website this week.
