Bad Experiences With A Lamy 2000?

My L2000 is the smoothest writer I have.

As far as rotation, as others have said, it has to be your grip. I have moved to using it unposted and the weight distribution is different so my grip is higher. It’s both more comfortable but also more secure, thus less likely to rotate. Experiment!

Current lineup:

Pilot Custom 743

Montblanc 146 LeGrande

Lamy 2000

Platinum 3776 Jade

I've also had trouble keeping it on its sweet spot. I took it to Argentina as my go-to pen when I was doing research in Salta because of its robustness and because I knew I would be out in the wilds. When I returned to the United States, I couldn't find it and so bought another one.  Long story short, I found the original one in my backpack.

A friend of mine in Bolivia told me he liked fountain pens, so I gave him my extra pen. He absolutely loves it and writes with it all the time.  I probably gave him the new one, that has a larger sweet spot than the old one...

I like fine nib fountain pens so knowing that German pens were a little wide I went with and xf on my Lamy 2000, bought it used. It was way too dry and skipped so much I ended up selling it at a pen show, with full disclosure on how dry it was.  Later in the same pen show someone else had a 2000 xf for sale and let me write with it. I ended up buying it and have loved it ever since! Later bought the SS version and the Blue version and both of them have been a dream to use.
