Stormy Grey Theory...

Tom Traubert

Recommended Posts

Right, so I'm finding it hard to not use my Stormy Grey (currently loaded in a super-wet, super-smooth Parker Sonnet that is just a delight) and I reckon it's getting better.

I think this is because, every time I shake it before filling, there is a tiny amount of time before the nib enters the ink and I fill the converter. In this time, some of the gold falls below the reach of the suction. Therefore, after every filling, I am left with a slightly greater gold:ink ratio.

You know how it ended? he starved, because he couldn't touch his food anymore...

Take care that there won't be only gold left and no ink - or your pen will starve, too. ;)

OTOH: you might save money for the regrind at a nib master, the pen will grind itself on the gold :-)

Greetings,

Michael

Well, to be precise: He didn't actually starve, because the God Dionysos recommended a bath in the river Paktolos which cured him and caused the river to have lots of gold in it... (you are rich as Croesus? - his wealth came from that river)

But "starving" fit into the context :-)

Greetings,

Michael
