Hey!

First post here, have heard some about switching out kara's ink with a different nib. I love the softness of the 18k gold nibs (my favorite is the waterman exception 18k), anyone have experience switching out kara's stainless for a different nib? Any suggestions of nibs, can i replace just the nib without the whole feed system, is this something that I can do as a DIY vs. sending to a pen meister?

Thanks!

Kara do not make there own nibs it seems, rather they use schmidt nibs http://karaskustoms.com/refills/nibs.html . As long as you can take the nib out of the section and you can find a 18kt gold nib that is the same size it should not be to hard.

You should be able to buy them from here http://meisternibs.com/18k-gold-nibs/

You should also be able to find them on most pen turner sites as the high end nibs.
