Help Identifying An Ink

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a Parker 21 and it had this wonderful ink inside. I was wondering if any ink finatics can identify it.

Oh dear..it could be a lot of inks because it has probably had some evaporation in the pen. Can you run a wet qtip across the ink and show us how it washes?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

I don't think this is 54th Mass.

Agreed. Could be Parker Quink Black. Wet it and we might be able to tell.

Yes, showing it's make up by smearing and wetting the ink would help a lot.

My initial guesses based on line colour -

  1. Old Parker Super Quink Black (I was kindly gifted a bottle and regularly look for more on ebay, it's gorgeous)
  2. Diamine Eclipse.

I'm going to say it's Parker Super Quink or Cartier Blue Black because that ink has probably been there for a while, but if you do a wash, we can probably direct you to a modern ink that has similar color.

I think old Parker Quink Black

If not the Quink, then Sheaffer Skrip.
