Around 14. Recently getting back into the collecting, but this time I want to KNOW what I am getting instead of just accumulating pens as I did before.

The cool thing is, although I was simply accumulating pens before, I happened to end up with some really cool stuff. All vintage, most cheap.

My goal would be, irregardless of how many I have, for me to know what each one "is"

I have no interest in quantity, but want quality, I suppose.

5 1-working 3-I fixed, await ink and 1-I might have broken, I will be asking about in a forum soon.

And then I have 11 coming who knows what kind of shape they will arrive in.

So ummm I guess I own 16. :o oh my...

That's how it begins. You try a few, bid on or order a few more, maybe find something else interesting while you wait for the first ones to arrive, win an auction or two you weren't expecting, or just find a used lot with a few good ones in it. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Before you know it, you've got 16, 32, 64... oh my. :P

I have since long crossed the 200 figures. Need recounting so as to ascertain as to what was the exact figure currently. And I am still on buying spree. Pens on way. Pens ordered not yet shipped. Mostly Parkers, Sheaffers and Watermans. Though I have a few Japanese, German, Italian and Spanish pens too in my collection. Chinese and pakistani pens are not counted into my collection. These are stored separately as sort of "keep for a rainy day" category.

Well, I think that for someone who has only been collecting for 4 months or so now, I have quite a large collection, and some quality in there too. I currently own 21 pens:

Baoer 801 shimmering sands
Baoer 3035 chrome colour
Click tulip
Conklin Duragraph amber
Hema (dutch retail store, not the brand) standard
Hero 7009 Black
Huahong A45
Jinhao X750
Lamy Logo Metal-black
A cheap but beautiful Montblanc copy
Parker 51 dark green
Parker 75 metal
Parker frontier dark blue
Parker IM black
Pelikan Go! P70 black-turquoise
Pelikan Pelikano red
Pelikan Signum P505 metal
Reynolds elegance yellow swirl
Sheaffer calligraphy black
Waterman Hémisphère
Waterman Torsade chrome

And 5 pens still coming in the mail...

I have 4, but in all honesty, I really only ever use the Raden Vanishing Point. Heck, the (bold, 18k gold Rhodium-plated Namiki-branded) nib in the gunmetal/matte black VP has NEVER been inked, and the Montblanc 149 and White Tortoise aren't even inked now.

Too many. A lot less than many others on FPN, but a lot to me. Still, I do enjoy going through them and swapping one out for another now and again.

Right now I am on the wagon for buying fountain pens, and ink too.

Counting the ones currently in the hands of the USPS, ten. Two Estie Js, two SJs (anyone have a spare cap for a copper one?), a Touchdown TM Admiral that's missing a sac, and two Varsities are at the house. Awaiting a TWSBI 580 and two Jinhaos, a 159 and an X750.

Well, since last posting, the stash has grown. Not sure of the exact number, but over 100. I now have more pens than will fit in four 24-pen zipper cases. Heck, I have more Parkers than will fit in a 24-pen zipper case without even counting the three or four pens currently in rotation....

ETA: I used to have two of those cases. One for vintage pens and one for modern (i.e., post 1960) pens. At some point I reorganized the pens by brands. Now it looks as if I'm going to have to have two for the Parker pens pens alone (one side of one of them JUST for the Vectors...).

I thought I had finally joined the Pen of the Month Club, but have already bought 5 pens this year -- and it's barely the middle of April....

Discounting deliveries from last year, I have ordered nine or ten, of which about half are not here yet so they do not count either so call it four or five....

Wait , the one I bought overnight is for repair and resale so that does not count either. And if it could be three than four must be an exaggeration. That definitely makes it less than one a month. What a relief.

I currently have 20 fountain pens and another will arrive in a week or so. I cycle through them all and usually have 2-5 of them inked up at any one time. Mostly Lamy and Sailor pens with a Pilot and a few Platinum ones in the mix. My ink collection is a little more concerning as I already have 30 bottles along with a couple of ink samples! I recently got hubby a nice fountain pen and now he is interested in using bottled ink so I think that could justify a few more purchases......? :D

I have just counted and am shocked to find 90! I did sell a few a couple of years back but really did not enjoy the experience.

It's gotten worse -- I just bought another one in an antiques mall about an hour and a half away from me last week.... A cute little mini-pen which I think might be a Well-Sharp (can I keep it? It followed me home...). Yeah, I know. I'm doomed.... :headsmack:

There's a Parker 21 pen & pencil set, and a Peter Pan mini-pen (its nib wasn't in the greatest shape) still in the place, AFAIK, for anyone in the Clarion, PA area....
