You *do* know that's a slippery slope, don't you? I now have three 24 pen zipper cases for storing the pens that aren't currently in rotation.... Because two of them (one for modern pens, one for vintage) wasn't sufficient....

I don't know if I should feel relieved at the low count of my pens or in dread at the day I have 45 'give or take' a few!! I say I only want ten modern pens max. for everyday use but I drew up a list of the pens I've contemplated getting "at some point" in the distant future today and it was around 20-30 pens.

 

Right now I have 13 pens in my little collection, two of them RBs, two need repairs.

 

In my defense, that "45, give or take a few" has been amassed over a 40+ year period. Given that length of time, there are a few members of this forum whose collections would number in the hundreds. I've seen pictures of other members' collections, and my piddling cache of pens is hardly a drop in the bucket.

@yaakova- No defense needed! I could have picked any one's number really. In my non-defense, I've only gotten into this pen business for two years. For me, what I have now is almost overwhelming but I still want all those pens, hence the dilemma!

I just checked and clearly I have too many. (Not that that will stop me from acquiring more.)

 

The good news is I have more posts to FPN than pens. At least for now.

I own 10 (11 if you include my other pen missing a nib and a feed).. actually would have 13 if my first ever parker didn't shatter, and my eversharp didn't break in half right before using it on a big essay... well things happen..

I went on a bit of a spree lately. Was doing so well, and then slipped. Bought 8 new pens. Selling two of those now, so I'm at 11 now. Way more than I'd like to have, but I find myself with that bug to get more from time to time.

I have never ever sold any of my pens in the 35 - 40 years histry of my pen collection. I cant even imagine parting ways with my pens for money. It is either keep it or gift it to a loved one. No sale at all. Dunno but it is a kind of sacrillege , at least , to me.
