Super Pinks - Operation Stone Age

Thistle #2 is a nice and saturated blue-black. It behaves quite well and could be an EDC ink.

Thistle #1 was a tad bit darker than Thistle #2 but exhibited a slight and subtle sheen. Reminds me of Waterman Midnight Blue, in terms of color.

Here is the ink swab. Notice the sheen on the right.

Here is a side-view of the sheen.

Sterling Violet is saturated shade of purple, which leans towards blue. This ink may be a bit cloggy in the current concentration, and I think I should dilute it to 75%, instead of 50% as Amber initially suggested. Have not tested this.

I noticed other people say that the ink is too blue, but I found the ink to be purple enough. Possibly add a bit of the Williamsburg Red to it to make it more purple? IDK.

The Rubinato Black (sandalwood scent) is a much more saturated black than the Williamsburg. The ink has a faint scent and is not overwhelming. I normally have an aversion to strong fragrances but this ink smells very nice to me. I think I could sniff it all day.

Blue Amber, is one of the SuSeMai powdered inks, and behaves like one—very excellently. At 100%, this ink is extremely saturated, and maybe even oversaturated for my tastes. I would dilute it down to 75% or 50%, but I have not tested it yet.

Another strange ink is the KWZI Iron-gall Green Gold ink. This is my first time even seeing an Iron Gall ink in real life so it was quite an experience. The ink initially lays down as a bright shade of yellow, which I thought could be a problem for school assignments. However, I left the ink in my swab book for half a day, before I took this picture, and the color changed drastically. Iron Galls are weird. I like 'em.

This concludes my long list of swabs. Sorry about that. Also, all swabs have be made to match the color as accurately as possible.

You must look for the designation after IG.

IG-GG - Iron Gall Green Gold by KWZI

IG-G3 - Iron Gall Green #3 by KWZI

IG-M - Iron Gall Mandarin by KWZI

IG-O - Iron Gall Orange by KWZI

It sure would help if I looked more carefully, wouldn't it? ;) Yes, I have IG-M, Mandarin. Although it comes out more golden/amber with the C-4 italic dip nib.

GREAT view of the colors! It's fascinating to see the subtle variation in shade (and our perception of them) on different papers, with different nibs or swabs. Right?

Are we supposed to start separate threads for the different inks, like we did before, or are we supposed to just post them here, like everyone seems to be doing?

I may have been guilty of starting an ill-mannered trend. But I'm new, sorry.

I just follow what everyone else is doing like a herd of sheep. Oops. Should I turn the swabs into threads also?

Can I get some more info on KWZI inks? Where do I get them and how cautious should I be with iron falls?

Glad we have that solved!

It's up to you all. Remember in the "normal" review forum, one ink per person per review. We can certainly do these with individual reviews. Let's be sure to link them here if we do. We aren't required to do fussy reviews, or any reviews. this is for our enjoyment.

Good pen hygiene is a must with all of these inks.

I can't take credit for the phrase, but it does accurately reflect what needs to happen. As Ernie says you must wash your face, wash your wrist, wash your hand, wash behind your ears... what did he forget
