Ina-Ho - Pilot Iroshizuku

This, believe it or not,is the only Iroshizuku I nearly bought.

I say nearly because having mixed 2 parts KWZ Pea Green (a fabulous ink!) and 1 part R&K Helianthus I think I don't need to buy any.

Perfect match.

Phew. :)

(also love the chromatography, it gives us mixers a heads up B) )

I accidentally duplicated Ina-Ho.

Forgotten in a drawer was a bottle of J Herbin Vert Pre which I found too difficult to read. With nothing to lose I added Pelikan's Brilliant Brown until the colour darkened and appealed. Can't specify the ratio as the brown was directly dripped from a pen into the Vert Pre bottle.

As an amateur this was the first attempt at mixing, I was delighted with the result. It's a beautifully behaved ink.

Ina-Ho was an ink I thought I'd hate, yellow with the faintest green tinge sounded washed out and damp. and the scans and swatches on the internet confirmed all my fears.

BUT

Skip to last month while travelling through Japan, I popped into a stationary store and tried out a bunch of Iroshizuku samples and holy cow; This color is incredible!

Based on OP's Chromatography shot I can see why it looked so drab and boring on a computer screen; it's subtlety and shading is off the charts, and would be impossible to show with a photo or scan.

It's punchy enough to stand out on a page, but doesn't drag your eye away from the neutral Salix I use for notes at uni; it's a warm shade without being hot; and it's water resistance has me dumbstruck. not just water resistant for a yellow, but it holds it's own against my Iron Gall inks.

If I could recommend anything, it's to find a real life sample of this one. Whether it's a letter from someone, or a sample vial off eBay, don't trust a screen to show you this color

And now that it's almost unobtanium .......

Add lightness and simplicate.
