I didn't mean to offend anybody, but try to picture that pen beside an Omas, Visconti, Stipula..etc... I know is a huge difference in price but that was not the criteria of judging the pens estetiques qualities... If you want to introduce the price into the equation...than you get what you pay for it..

Glad you mentioned those brands.

 

I think among FP users from west, it is not the pen but the "India" tag that still somehow creates problems.

 

Here I can say only this (and nothing more) that one of the three brands mentioned by you a year back offered to buy 250 units of Hawk (and many more on continuing basis). But for pricing issue the thing couldn't go ahead. The particular brand insisted on a price that was less than cost !

 

That pen manufacturer from Europe wanted those Hawk without branding.

 

That much for the comparison !

Would anyone buy so many pens & also intend to buy on continuous basis for keeping in closet?

 

Besides in my opinion no one would intend to buy so many pens without having had a good look at it & analysed it - not on webpages & images - but on ones own hands !

Very interesting. I ordered an Eyas with a JoWo nib and it's the same as a Revolution apparently.
Excellent pen. I got it in the matt black finish and it feels wonderful to hold. It quickly turned into my favourite pen.

To be honest I used to think these ED's were big bulky things that were overdone. I turned out to be very wrong.

I can understand that. It's a very minimalistic design, and I think most people would like more shiny bits on it. Personally, I'm a minimalist so I like it a lot.

Before ASApens I never...never used an eyedropper after my high school. Since I started using it, I am loving it.

Yes it is a minimalistic design. Before revolution my favorite pen, not aesthetically of course, was Lamy Safari. I think that of all the other pens I have used so far, only the revolution competes with it. Its saying a lot.

 

Revolution has a functional, executive look. It is a pen meant for business. I compared it with a black robe of a lawyer.

Many people may abhor that coal tar black suit, and obviously a beach dress would look much more prettier, but when you seek gravity with beauty, you would go for the pen.

I just got a Gama Eyas from ASA. Great service from Mr. S, fast shipping. Got a matte black with a fine basic nib - is that the JoWo? At any rate, I am very pleased with it. This is my second eyedropper, my other is a Kim & Co in brown swirl ebonite. I like them both a lot. Really like the size of the Eyas. I may get one of the ASA brand pens in the future or a Gama Kyuil. I really love the finish and quality of these pens. This Eyas gives a lot of value for $25 compared to, say, a Lamy 2000 for $100 and up. No gold nib but I agree, the basic fine nib writes well and is plenty smooth, just a hint of feedback.

i believe u must have recieved the eyas with stock nib which is not JoWo....

There are some pens from ASA stable which have option to upgrade to JoWo nibs.... also 1.1 italic nibs....
