This marbled red is stunning

Thanks, carretera. What i have not been able to capture in pictures is the pearlescent dark blue of the cap and blind cap of the pen. Always appear black.

Still worth visiting this thread; I'm learning to know so many different pens and inks and hand writings and drawings and ways to express the English language...

Lately I've spent loads of time on this network. I have also played a lot with my TWSBIs. Yes, dcpritch and SNAK; catching up on old posts and playing with TWSBIs is addicting! And it is expensive in the long run, because all those pens around put ideas into my head.

At some point I thougth I had found my "grail pen", and I would never ever have to buy another pen again. The grail pen was my FrankenTWSBI (with "new" feed and waterman's nib). It is so customized to my taste both in design and in nib/feed preferance. But it turned out to be temporary! I kept seeing all the other pens you people present, and the images of some of them screwed themselves into my head, drilling their way from inside.

Yes, but you may only use seven of them.

OK, it's not Jerry Springer...

By the way, I have to buy a decent loupe.

Thanks!

Nice result there with the nib!

btw, as I read that you "messed with the nib", I realized I messed up the lyrics above

Now I should burn it!!! :D

That pen looks great. I really like the look of vintage safety pens but the maintenance, perceived messiness of eyedroppers and flexible nibs (I like modern nails) means I haven't gone further than a Boheme.

I don't think vintage safeties are any more maintenance than any other vintage pen...the only caveat is that you will want to buy one with a new seal for someone who knows what they are doing. They make great daily writers and with the cap on are safe to carry around (they are called safeties for a reason after all :) )

Thier,

Wonderful pens. The brown one is pernambuco wood?

No, it's dark pear wood. I've got a Graf with pernambuco and, yes, it's nearly the same color ...

SNAK,

This turquoise y green TWSBI is my favorite color. It's hard not to buy but I'm trying to control myself...

These are the blues...(as in not lipstick colors).

(And it works better when I attach images)

Amber, I thought your Karas Kustoms pen was green the last time I saw it! Did you get a purple one as well?

That one is seriously BEAUTIFUL. Safety pens have always been a mystery to me and quite intriguing.

I haven't a clue who it is, sorry Ptero. I am just not a big TV show watcher...

But I did look up what sanguine powder is! How do you keep the paper surface clean while working with fine powder like that?

You use the italic nibs so well. I can't even write on a straight line even with a guide sheet, let alone write consistent letters formed like you do so awesomely!
