Wonderful penmanship - what sort of nib/ink are you using?

Hi Da Vinci,

Thanks for comment! :)

I wrote this sample with Esterbrook 9128 nib and Noodler's black ink.

The Polish pen is just as beautiful as the Polish inks or even more so!

Very nice grind there! Congrats!

I LOVE that pen holder

I feel a little strange making a song a dance about a pen that is no longer being made but I'm sure there's still loads in circulation so, if like me you enjoy using a quality pen with the most gorgeous proportions and that's a joy to use every single time, then try to get a hold of one of the last remaining Edison Hudsons.

This Hudson feels like a bespoke pen and manages to behave in my hand, both when sketching and writing. In doing so it spends time on my desk and goes out on little trips too.

The nib is a beautiful looking large No 6 sized steel EF. It's nice and smooth with a smidge of variation if coaxed but my only gripe is that it writes like an F

I'd also like to point out how aesthetically pleasing the feed is. Look at it . . . !

Gorgeous. i love it.

Thanks Line, Snak, Attila, Ergative for your kind feedback, I´m happy that you like it. :)

Today I have again something new. :happyberet:

Today it´s not so easy, as the TV show is brand new, but Netflix users and Marvel fans might recognize him (additionally I hope I got him well enough to recognize him ;) ).

Guess who?

Pen: Montblanc 22 from the 1960's, with OB nib

Ink: My blue ink mix: washable blues (like Pelikan & MB Royal Blue, and Watermans Serenity Blue) and either Diamine's Sargasso Sea or Sapphire Blue (because I don't like their smell and I want to use them up)

Line Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry for the confusion. It was a Parker posted by dcpritch weeks ago. I didn't realize that you were just commenting. Now I have to ask the question to dcpritch.

Sorry about my slow reply, I was unable to get onto FPN all weekend due to a glitch with the iOS 8.3 update on my phone. I think that is still an issue but now I'm on my work computer so all is well.

The P51 shown in that pic has a standard barrel and a standard blind cap fits over the plunger, as with all other P51s. What is unique about that pen is that the sterling silver cap was hand hammered and a custom brass plunger was installed, all done by the inestimable Ralph Prather. Oh, and the nib is a little out of the ordinary.

Line, catching up on a thread, especially one this long, can take days and become addicting!

How small of all that human hearts endure,
That part which laws or kings can cause or cure.

dcpritch- Thanks for responding. The very brief delay posed no problems at all. I have recently purchased a large (to me-perhaps a hundred) collection of pens and mechanical pencils. I haven't even had time to look at them all, let alone organize and inventory them. I had noticed a pen with what I now know is an exposed plunger. I assumed there was a missing blind cap and just wanted to confirm my concern. Yes, the hammered cap on yours is outstanding! I work in wood and am also a fan of metalwork. Contrasting textures almost always add interest. Again, thanks.

I see your photos all the time in my Flickr feed as I follow you there. I always look forward to another one of your gorgeous photos. Your photos are my standard which I consistently fail to reach, but always hope to achieve. Keep them coming.
