Yes they will be taught to use fountain pens properly. In fact my older son (8 years old) has two pens and the younger son (4) has one, although they mainly use them for drawing more than writing, especially the little one. I couldn't find the Lamy ABC that my 4 year old should have put away in his box, but here are the two that belong to my older son.

Pens: Pelikano Junior Blue and Sellner A-4614 Blue

Snak, I have both of those pens. JustWrite.au sold the Selner to me.

BTW, the Junior is the perfect candidate for a nib mod.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I recently discovered the Brause 361 nib and I really like it.

Ohhh, I love these steno nibs too. Although my preference is opposite to yours. I like Hiro/Leonardts 40 Steno better because it is softer, but I would happily take Brause 361 Steno too. I have plenty of both in my stash. ;)

Yep, that's who I got my son's Sellner from too. They now have Blackstone inks in blue and black for sale. I wonder if they are related to the powder ink you had from Kevin?

We celebrate Mothers Day on the 1st Sunday in May around here.

I wish my mother could understand these lines :)

Those are lovely lyrics. I hope you can get the ticket to her concert like you said!

What did you do to celebrate mother's day for your mum?

It's another rainy Sunday afternoon here, so we're stuck indoors and the kids are doing playing on their video game or iDevices. I had a few moments to sit down and relax today, which was nice :) .

I moved the nib over into a prettier pen. I think this is it's new home.

00Photo Lovely again.

I wonder what the effect is of the flexnib on this.

Could you do a comparison with a plain round stiff nib versus a nice flexy one?, Some text with a signature-birdy?

Thanks

I didn't realise Kiri-same is such a lovely grey. So warm and inviting. Do you find it harder to read on paper? Do you use it for taking notes etc., i.e. large chunk of text?

Kiri-same is really a fun ink; it has the same colour as a pencil, yet it gives a beautiful shading. When I use it in a wet noodle pen, it is quite "visible" (sorry, lack of words; English is not my native Language). Therefore I also use it writing long texts. I use fountain pens a lot at work, and I like to change colours every now and then. As long as the ink flow is rich, even orange is readable :-)

Thanks Line and Snak for your kind feedback :)

Snak I love your drawings, show us more!

My son (5) also got recently his first fountain pen.

A Pelikan Griffix which he really likes.

But of course he still want to use mine as well. :)

Today I have something new.

Guess who?

Paper: Clairefontaine Dessin 160g/m2 A4

Material: Pencils

Effort: about 2,5 hours

I've just filled my Caran d'Ache Varius Metwood. It's now ready to be used the week to come in alternance with the Ecridor Retro, the Waterman Premier and the Montblanc 146 Silver. I always take 4 pens with different inks when going to work ...
