Hi Amber,

again a new avatar?

Looks cool, why don't you show it in big within the thread? (Or is there an other thread which I'm not aware off yet)

Ptero, with your talent, I'm sure Amber will have some new ones to display soon. That Avatar topic is quite interesting, artwise...

Wish I had the talent to add to it......

Congrats Eduardo, it's a beauty!!! I have one that was my grandfather's and it writes like a dream.

Another March, another new job. (last year at about this time I was looking for a job, but this year I found a much better one much faster).

New job pen. I've always used black in this pen, but this time I tried some of my Noodlers Galileo Manuscript I got from the wonderful White_Lotus in an ink PIF. The color is not quite as red as it seems here. It's more brown, but a great color that looks almost exactly a match for the Sailor Jentle Grenade. If you missed out on that great ink, then get yourself some of this.

It seems to be a match made in heaven. Love it.

Line, that is a big fat nib and assuming from the shading you get, a really wet nib too. I really enjoy looking at shading and sheen on paper. :)

Ptero, I have written down how I used to make DIY iron gall inks. Sadly I haven't made a new batch in a while.

Pen: Sheaffer Tuckaway "Lady Sheaffer" with Lifetime nib in Medium (c.1945-47). The sticker says "$8.75 - Lady - Shearer - Medium - No Federal Tax"

Ink: Sailor (Sankodo - Nagoya) Nagoya-jo Sepia

Paper: Tomoe River (White)

I am really wanting to peel off that ugly old sticker. It is nice that I can see the original cost and the name of the pen etc. but it just feels yucky and looks ugly. Should I peel it off? It's a bit of a junker of a pen anyway. If I did peel it off, would the area underneath the sticker be different in colour or texture? Has anyone done something like this? I believe the material of this pen to be celluloid.

Beautiful, both the pen and the ink. Not to speak of the nib and the shading. I love such photos! :-)

Thanks line, I was actually surprised how well the Passage Blau ink shaded with that pen/nib combination. Even old inks that I have tried before keep surprising me every time I put them in different pens.

Thanks you very much for writing it down and sharing it with us. :)

Where do you get the gallic acid? (right from the Oak trees?)

A long time I didn´t used my pastel pencils anymore.

Yesterday I was in the mood to use them and try a little exercise with them.

I do not know to which animal the eye belongs the picture i used did not mention it.

But I think it´s out of question that it´s the eye of a predator.

Title: Predator Eye

Paper: Folia 614/50 90 - Fotokarton 300 g/m²

Material: Pastel Chalk

Effort: about 1 hour

That Bamboo looks stunning, Amber . Oh, seems you have got quite a few good Indian pens ! Guess they write well. I think original nibs of Indian ebonite pens are simply disappointing. You must have done something, I'm sure. BTW, that giant in the middle in your pic looks like a lethal "native American " weapon best suitable for hunting ! No ?

Ptero : Awesome ! the hair lines.. so minutely drawn. The earlier raccoon with so much detailing ...that was amazing ! Your drawings are highly appreciable. If I may ask, are you a professional artist ?

Today, I've used this Parker Premier Luxury ....

The Blue Knight asked me to make a little review about it .....it's done here ....

Thier : The Parker Premier is very attractive. I was a big Parker fan, but somehow body chemistry gave away to other brands. May be cuz boutique price of high end Parkers look obscene. Still this Premier is a very nice looking pen Thier. I'm drooling !!!
