I've been playing around with grinding one of my pens under some dim light.

And it seems I've turned my EF Waterman Hemisphere into a unique architect nib, like what is on Mr. Mottishaw's website. It is unique because it tells me more about my writing angle than a stub so far.

The images and penmanship are pretty crappy... I didn't prepare for the images...

Ink is Noodler's 54th Massachusetts. Edit: I also have to say that it is unbelievably smooth. It is nearly like writing on air.

This chap arrived yesterday.

I think I'll be using it "quite a bit" today.

Today I'm admiring some of the underrated Noodler's designs, the gorgeous tortoises!

Left to right: Hawaiian Tortoise, Galapagos Tortoise, Apache Tortoise, Pima Tortoise.

There are also a few I don't have, like the green Tahitian Tortoise, and the presumably discontinued California Tortoise (which, if anyone has one to sell, I might be interested in…)

Seriously Nathan, more tortoise pens!

Whoo! Tortoise Noodler's! I actually got a Tahitian Tortoise come in today from Goulet. Last I looked, they were still in stock if you were interested in snagging one.

Hmm.. I'm thinking I need a Hawaiian and a Pima someday.

OH....MY!!!!! I've been going through the estate pens I got. It appears that most of them haven't been used in decades, but were polished regularly. I got this one together last night, and when I inked it up just now...WOW WOW WOW! This may be the best writing pen I've come across. And, it has a matching pencil.

I'm too much of a chicken to try and grind my own, but it looks like you did a great job!

Are these out of the 35 you got the other day? More treasures buried in the lot!

They are so sparkly, I'm like a magpie attracted to shiny pretty things.

...

I can spot KonPeki ink every time I see it. Just like I can spot BSB every time. It's one of my favourites.

No I was genuinely curious, and I was thinking more along the lines of some delectable morsels, but travel momentos are even nicer!

And this is something for you.

Enquiring minds(well, this one, anyway) need to know: what's the difference between Marmite and Vegemite? I love Marmite.....and it makes a grand veggie alternative for bolognese sauce...

I think Vegemite is stiffer and saltier (and pongier/more distinctive some might say).

We need more salt as we sweat a lot here, you know.

Sky High is absolutely gorgeous! Is it very similar to Iroshizuku Kon-peki? (Do I need a bottle of Souten when I have Kon-Peki and van Gogh Cobalt? )

I've rediscovered my love for Noodler's too. I realised recently that the position I was holding my Konrad was the cause of most of the railroading issues that had been frustrating me. I'm back to enjoying its wet, inky goodness now. :D
