Blue Ripple has been on my WANT! list for a little while, along with Pink Ripple with interesting nib. I am sure that one day, when the stars align just right, a pen will present itself to me. I just hope that they hurry up and present themselves already!

Yours is a beautiful one. I also love the way you cross the "t"s, where you do it from the end of the word and go "ziiip" back. It looks very classy.

I have a weak spot for white pens. That pen is so pristine it almost looks as if it is some kind of a medical instrument. Is it a cartridge filler, or can it do eye dropper filling?

I just got home with these. I got them in a lot I bought at auction. The listing stated - Onward, Travelers, Moore and others.

Oh how lucky are you! And it's a Burma doric too! Beautiful pens.

Do you think they all came from the same owner?

I think "B. Kelly" had great taste.

Please let us know how they write once they are inked up and tuned up.

A first and second FPN post by my wife, Susan, who has 4 fountain pens, 3 of which are confiscations from my selling inventory. The Vac was a present.

Could you please ask Susan if she had the pen nib up during the flight, or did they do fine without extra care like that? It would be lovely if she could post some of her drawings done with the pretty pen :) .

I wish my husband shared my interest in fountain pens but he is a left handed overwriter so fountain pens and he do not get along too well unfortunately.

Edit: becos me can't write too good.

It may take me a while...there were 35 items in all, and I even got 3 display cases with them. I'm currently playing with a big honking Travelers pen/pencil combo that has a Warranted Velvet Touch 14K nib.

Snak,

She did carry it nib up, at the request of her in-house pen maintenance foreman, aka me. And, tell your husband I am a left handed overwriter, which is what got me using these things in the first place, fifty years ago.

A fun new arrival today: the Platinum #3776, Bourgogne, with 3-tined music nib.

Very nice. Handsome pen, and one of the selling points is that the cap seals better than most fountain pens, so that almost no ink evaporates and the nib does not dry out.

And although the nib is not flexible at all --kind of the point of having a 3-tined music nib!--, it does make a lovely bold line on downstrokes, and thin horizontals. [Apologies for the terrible photo of the nib --I can't get a good in-focus shot with my phone... :( ]

Lovely pattern. Is the material see through in the cap? It must look amazing when sunlight hits it.

Yes, the cap is translucent, and very pretty in bright light! If I get another, I'll probably go with the Persimmon Swirl --a real eye-catcher!

What pen is that exactly?

I don't recognise it - must admit I really do like white pens.

Your brush strokes are strong and decisive. I am practicing brush calligraphy (Japanese letters) using the Pentel pocket brush pen but it is so hard to control the brush! The lines get all wobbly and mine looks like I wrote it with my left hand.

Tim, whenever if you have a moment, would you be able to take a picture of you holding your pen and putting the nib on paper, just the way you write? When my husband tried a few times with my pens he just couldn't get the tip of the nib to keep in good contact as he wrote along the paper. Plus, he got such bad smudge on the area of his hand he had on the paper, he didn't enjoy the experience at all. In the end we gave up and he has been using a MB rollerball which works for him.

Sorry to hear about your accident with the Ceruti, they always land on the nib, don't they? Why is that I wonder? I would have thought the back end of the pen would be heavier? But it seems to be writing really well so I hope you were able to mend it.
