I love those little Parkers, Beechwood. You find some truly wonderful pens hidden underneath the classics. I have a Thrift Pen, with a slight oblique nib, that is just outstanding. And the clips on some of those were built like anchors.

They are really good pens, and so humble. I can imagine someone at their workbench in 1932, putting this pen together all by hand, and here we are - 80 years later.

Gweimer, Beech -- I completely agree. I've enjoyed watching how my collection is evolving toward the durable workhorses that are not necessarily pretty, although both the CS and the Parker 75 up now for me are also pretty. I feel the same way about my Balances. They just work, and work, and work.

Bought this pen last December. I´m still not sure if I like it. What do you guys think of it?

I think it's awesome! I really love the section shape. The way the section has a the flared tip that straightens out is my favorite design shape.

Thank you! I like the pen as a writting instrument a lot. The colors are not really what I expected when I first saw it on pictures.

I own quite a long time a Pentel Brush Pen, but it gave me a hard time and make me feel like a ham-fisted fool.

I thought I already have a light hand, but this brush pen proofed me wrong

So I need some practice with it to master it.

Title: Roger Rabbit

Paper: Clairefontaine Dessin 160g/m2 A4

Material: India Ink

Effort: About 2 hours

(Pentel Brush Pen)

(Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen B)

Now I feel a little bit more comfortable with the Brush Pen, but I will need a lot more training.

I can recommend such a brush pen as a training to get a light hand.

If you can master a brush pen you can for sure master every fountain pen.

I went to my local pen shop yesterday with the firm idea on buying a Pelican Souveran 1000. The gentleman took it out of the shelf, I dipped it, wrote a few lines with it and paid for it. As my card and bill were being processed, I turned aroun and saw the Aurora shelf... Well this is how my Pelikan hunting ended...

Pelikan M200 with italic nib

Noodler's Texas Blue Bonnet

I chose this ink since the Blue Bonnets are blooming this time of year, and they are so beautiful.

Tried my hand at dip pens after a disastrous first attempt a few months ago. I actually got to write many words before I had to re-dip. The secret was to burn away the coating on the nibs!

The more I look at this thread, the more I'm as impressed with the penmanship as I am with the pens. Mine has gotten better, but I'm a LONG way from most of you.

Is that a Blue Pumpkin Nib? I have one and had really hard time getting it primed. I read several reviews that the Blue Pumpkins are a pain to prep.
