A little Yama-Dori nib creep

Tringle -- another pretty Gold Starry, later one this time, but that's a lot of nib creep! I've seen that on French pens more than others, and wonder if their QC on the feeds and nib/feed fit just wasn't as good in later years. We definitely need a French pen bake-off one of these days; next time I've got the photo equipment and the pens in the same place, since I have two Bayards, a Gold Starry, a Unic, and maybe another.

Tim

Tim,

I always like nib creep, it helps me to remember what ink I have filled my pen with. :)

I really like the advertising, and colors on the boxes of the 20's - 30's Gold Starry.

 I was getting ready to tell you that I LOVE how broad the nib is and it love it with your handwriting.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Its actually Pilot's clever ploy to make metal look like carbon fibre. :)

Yes, I should have guessed that really!

Today a bamboo dip pen I bought in Italy in the summer. I've never really tried dip pens, but I like the feel of this on the paper - it is smooth but has a bit of feedback. I'm going with the Diamine Imperial Blue.

Okay, I love it. Now what are the two purples?

Thank you. It's all Imperial Blue, which has quite a bit of red in it, so is more of a purply blue - I think the camera (phone) has picked up the red more than one sees in reality - this seems to disappear as the ink dries, which I really like. So it starts out purple and ends up blue.

This is a fun pen!

Very nice Hector

A very precise line. I am a fan of the "medium side of fine" nib width of the MB fine nib :)

Attika, that looks like a lovely firm not flex nib? If you dont mind how old is the pen? Does it have a cork piston seal?

Ah, I thought the first one was Ebony Purple which has a yellow / green sheen.
