i am really humbled... glad u liked it

I try to print, however I end up with a combination of printing and cursive. I used to think printing slowed me down but I just tested writing the same phrase in print, and then in cursive and the process took me the same amount of time. :headsmack:

Pretty, my favorite color of that model. I happened upon one as well (on the far right) not too long ago, and it's a great little writer. Feels good in the hand, too, don't you think?

Oooh are these all your pens HJB? I'm swooning over the second from the left!

I only inked it up last night, but so far I'm loving it. It's my first 14k gold nib, and I love the line variation possible with the soft-fine nib. It does write wetter than the Lamy pens that are my daily writers. (Guess it's time to upgrade from those cheap composition books!) I will say that this pen has made me want to start saving up my pennies for the Custom 912 and the Justus 95.

Thanks for the insight! I was also thinking about the 912 with a FA nib but I need to read up more about the differences between the two before I make a purchase. I just wish they had a more varied color selection :( plain black pens aren't really my thing! I'd love a tortoise model! I'll keep dreaming, I guess!

@Holly - I just noticed the hatch marks and the design of the pen, the pink isn't a first choice for me but I do like the design of your pen. Reminds me of mosaic glass.

It really resembles that in person. I have to say I had seen pictures of the pen but they don't do it proper justice for what it's like in person. It was the first pen I stumbled upon and fell in love with/had to have. Thanks for the kind words!

@Amber - What pink ink did you use for that? Hmmm what's my favorite? I recently got Kosumosu and I fell in love with it. Before that though I was really loving Private Reserve Shell Pink (a peachy pink,I think I'm discovering I like the warm-toned pink colors a bit more than the cooler/bluer ones). I still have a few samples I need to try that are sitting in my drawer though. Platinum Mix-free cyclamen pink is also super fun too. Do you have any favorites I should look into?

It's a Platinum 3776 Celluloid in the Sakura pattern. Broad nib!

They made other colors too, and so I shall insert this image I found on google:

Left to right: Koi, Sakura (Cherry Blossom), Jade, Tortoise, and Stone

Note to self to take more glamour shots. I am planning to make a blog post about it some time before I hit 30.

The coral was a mix of Lamy Coral and Williamsburg Red. Don't do it, it keeps drying out. Have you tried Diamine Cerise, Diamine Hope Pink or the new MB Pink (I'm dying to try that one). I really like retina searing colors, so I like Tsutsuji and Momiji which are not really pink. I use Cape Cod Cranberry as my signature ink - it's obnoxious.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

How about J Herbin Rose Cyclamen? I think its darker than what you want but a nice shade.

Such pretty handwriting, as always! Which nib did you originally have?

I only mention 30 since that's a few months away and I'm dawdling a bit with the posts I want to make. Going to have to carve time out to really contribute some posts to the forum! 4 months to go!

I haven't tried the Rose Cyclamen though I've got it on a list with Poussiere de lune. Not a pink, but a color I find really captivating nonetheless. Black Swan in Australian Roses is also on my ever-growing ink list.

The other celluloids look so pretty. I've seen so many gorgeous pictures of that Koi pen. Stunning. There's also a really lovely midnight blue one floating around as well. I believe this Sakura pen was the pen that started me on this descent into FP madness.

I had heard good things about Diamine Cerise as well as the MB Pink but I hear that's getting challenging to track down. Hope Pink is in my possession and I'm very fond of it. At first I thought it would be too bright but I love it. Same with Platinum Mix-Free Cyclamen. It's like getting punched with color- in the best way!

A long time ago and far away (the previous thread, in fact) I posted before, and meant to post again. But man, you folks move fast. I promised myself I'd make the effort to get here within the first five pages though, so here goes. Forgive the focus, or lack of; I was in a hurry.

Pretty sure this aquatic customer should have a blue hood, but I rather like the black.

And another thumbs up for the Preppy 0.2 from me; total bargain if you're looking for a really fine line.

Cheers, Al

How did you get hold of that beauty?

Miss,

I was using an EF nib that arrived faulty. :( I tinkered with it and made it usable, but not pleasurable.

Good morning on a very cold NYC Tuesday --

I forgot to note that while the nib is French and period-correct, it is not the original Bayard nib. I have one at home in a slightly older Bayard with a not-yet-successfully-closed crack that I think I'll move to this pen. But it gets a fill as is, first.
