It's what comes out of that pen that amazes me more than the pen itself. Beautiful penmanship.

That's a 15 yd penalty for no handwriting pics.

Here's another new addition to the fold - an Ambassador that is also REALLY REALLY smooth.

I just got my first Wahl....OH MY! I love this pen! Aside from a sac, all it needed was a good cleaning and buffing.

Wonderful! Very handsome. Is it silver or gold?

My first Vacumatic! Very cool --although maybe I could use some tips about filling. I only seem to get just a tiny bit of ink into the chamber. Any advice?

Nice pen. I have a couple, but not quite as nice. How are you filling it?

From David Nishimura's site:

Regardless of plunger type, all Vac-fillers fill alike: the blind cap is removed, the nib is immersed, and the plunger is depressed several times until no more air bubbles come out from the nib hole.

Aha! I was just depressing the plunger once, and that must not have expelled all the air. Good to know! Thanks for the tip!

How does it hold up in every day use? A bit idiosyncratic design, interesting

Hey RMN, it's a very strong pen. I think a truck could drive over it and not hurt it. It's also way over priced but it' was too cool to pass up. Having no cap isn't really a big deal. I just look at its case as the cap. Edited by FOUR X FOUR

As I've mentioned in a couple other threads, I particularly enjoy using fountain pens to write fiction -- the feel of a good nib on quality paper, and the enforced "slowness" of the process compared to typing, really seem to fuel my creativity. I choose a selection of pens to suit my current mood, or the mood of the story I'm working on, and rotate between them on a page-by-page basis.

Since I'm starting a new story in a few minutes, I thought I'd show today's chosen lineup:

From left to right, they are:

--three of my Cross Townsends (Midnight Blue, Translucent Green, 20th Anniversary Brushed Platinum)

--Laban German Rubber in red

--Levenger Newton in gold

--Montegrappa Piccola (blue and rose gold)

--Montegrappa NeroUno Linea (black and rose gold)

--Monteverde Invincia Color Fusion (Spitfire Red)

--Nemosine Neutrino in gunmetal

--Parker Urban in Bay City Blue

--Visconti Homo Sapiens in Lava Bronze

--Xezo Incognito in bronze-copper

Now to see how this story turns out! ;)
