Writing with a Pelikan M400 white tortoise today. It was purchased on eBay used and marked as having a broad nib. I'm not a huge fan of broad nibs but it was so cheap that I decided to get it anyways and maybe send it to a nibmeister down the road to turn it into a stub. To my shock and surprise the nib wasn't a broad at all. It was a stub! So now I'm even more thrilled. I took a close up picture to confirm my observations when I wrote with it.

Now think of how much you saved by not having to send it out to a nibmeister! You can focus that on another pen!

Hah. Well, I also got a red M800 in the mail this week as well so maybe not for awhile. My flock of piston fillers are getting rather out of hand.

Writing an InCoWriMo letter with a Taccia Savanna and Scabiosa on Neenah Classic Laid Millstone paper ( I do not reccomend this paper. It bleeds too much with non iron gall inks. I prefer G. Lalo Verge De Fance laid paper. But this was cheap and I wanted to try something differnet so what the heck, it does have a cool color and texture. )

So beautiful penmanship.... It is not possible to learn, it is a talent.

Sorry, haven't been in this topic for awhile...the sun in my office was too bright for getting pen color, and this is the kind of thing I do early AM in my office...and it's FAR from sunny in NYC today....

 

This is another of my restorations that stayed with me: a Canadian Carmine Balance. Nib isn't original; it's a Feathertouch that really really lives up to its name.
