Don't Just Tell Us About The Pen You're Using, *show* Us! - 2015

Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! That is just beautiful.

How do you change the nibs like that?

Do you have to be selective about which nibs/feeds will fit the TWSBI section?

Do you keep each nib with its own feed or is the feed that of the TWSBI pen?

My ignorance probably comes across loud and clear.

I don't have a TWSBI but, now that I have seen your wonderful photo, the deficit will be corrected quickly!

Cheers,

David.

I forgot to ask if you had to buy the whole vintage pen to get each nib, or if you sourced the nibs separately.

So, who's got the dope on how to acquire BungBox ink outside Japan? Anyone? Anyone? ... Bueller? Bueller?

I don't know if this helps much, but Vanness Pens in the USA tries to carry them. They are usually out of stock. vanness1938.com

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

I'm digging this tight shot.

Me too!! I'm really enjoying seeing these Frankenpen hacks too, changing out the nibs etc. It's like another world of FPs has opened up to me. :)

Even if they had stock, I'd probably not gain anything over ordering from Japan, as I live in the UK.

Anyone know how to order BungBox from Japan?

You can order directly from BungBox - they ship internationally. You can also go through ebay seller Cooljapan (aka Atsu). Finally, Vanness Pens has some of the BungBox inks in stock.

I am very much interested in hearing the answers to these questions myself. Your photographs are such a pleasure, SNAK. :)

I checked, and BungBox direct is not shipping internationally until October 2015.

What a combo! I'm finding that I'm liking white pens more and more, and that is some very rocking ink.

And as for Line's Conway Stewart, I can see why you need that ink capacity. With that Monster to feed, you probably go through a gallon or two in a single letter.

And gorgeous ink, by the way, what is it??

The bottle of Yama-Budo might actually follow this topic and know that it could get its picture in here if it spat on your finger. You are just being an enabler for it.

I knew you were living your life dangerously when I saw open ink bottles in your photos (and not just once!) ;) .

Maybe your Yama-Budo is trying to tell you something? ("I need to Wipe My Mouth!")

But seriously, did you have a really hot day or something? Maybe it's the temperature thing? And I'm glad she didn't spit on your clothes.

P.S. Don't worry, she still loves you. Inks can be like that sometimes.

Should be something like that ..... The rubber gasket seemed to be sticked on the bottle and .... BURPS .... on my fingers ..... And now yes, that bottle is seen all over the world .... Do you believe that Iroshizuku could do that just to have free advertising ????????????

What a fantastic ink!

Houston, I hope you are able to get some of that Bung Box ink shipped to you. If you do, please post how you got it. :)

SNAK, I finally figured out how you got your screen name - backwards it is KANS, or Knight of Altered Nibs

I just looked at the Vanness1938 web site and they have the l'amant ink in stock.

Sorry for quoting my own post, but inspired by inotrym's comment, I have done a quick review of L'Amant using these 7 nib units above. I think it shading is lovely in any pen, as long as the pen is fairly wet to allow for the dark shading area to come out better. Otherwise the ink may look rather one-dimensional.

I am loving this ink. Off to write more with this ink/pen combination! :)

Snak, Alas your last pic has gone AWOL. Please use the UPLOAD facility!!!

I have that very pen. Mine is a big more well-loved (read tooth-marked) and it has a springy fine rather than a broad gorgeous nib like that. I love the pen. I can only imagine what it's like with that nib. Whooooo boy.

And I'm also quite fond of steady old Asa Blue. Thanks for reminding me.

Like Feathers said, they are out of their inks until October. There seems to be just a few bottles of the Black (Ieyasu) one and the Red (Omaezaki) ink on their Japanese site but everything else is sold out. I also noticed that their Amazon store has a few bottles left but I don't know about the pricing, it seemed a bit high.

I usually just got their inks from their Japanese site in the past. It's a shame about the wait until October, let's hope when they come back in stock there will be lots for sale!
