Thank you!

I always want it to look like it was done with a ruler or something, but I think I'll never be satisfied. Unless I actually use a ruler  Maybe not even then...

WHAT!!!! Do you mean you don't use a ruler to do that???? Wow.

I almost need a ruler to write normally, myself!

See, I wouldn't know even if greatness plonks me on the head so I had to go and google the pen. WOW.

The attention to detail is pretty amazing. What size nib does your pen have? I notice that you are enjoying your purple inks lately.

The pen’s urushi finish is just as I had imagined it to be, shiny and with beautiful depth of Heki colour (light yellowish green like Alt-Goldgrun or Wagner) showing though on corners, underneath the brown. The nib was worked by Mr. Mottishaw per David’s specification, and is a BB stub. It has the nice feedback and good edge but it writes smoothly so it is striking a lovely balance. It feels to me that the ink flow is adjusted to a controlled medium/wet flow which helps with line width variation.

The Neo Standard size seemed quite large when I first took the pen in my hand, but once the cap is off in my left hand, the pen itself in my right hand is about the same size as TWSBI 580 surprisingly. So I feel comfortable writing with it, although a little smaller will fit my hand better. Writing with this pen made me realise that the value of this pen is in no small part owing to the nib modification, so I have made up my mind that if/when I get a Nakaya I will definitely go through Nibs.com rather than directly from Nakaya in Japan. The nib is quite stiff, so I am wondering if I want to go for a Music nib made to be a bit crisper, and a little springiness added to it. Also I would like to to have the ink flow maximised as I write really fast. A Piccolo size will be perfect in my hand, I am thinking. Oh I almost sound like I am drafting an order sheet.
Thanks again David, for letting me enjoy this gorgeous pen.

Your lettering really shows off these fabulous inks beautifully. Yup, my ink wishlist groweth :D

Thank you! Ink wishlists never end!

I'm sorry, but it looks like you wrote "ROTRING boob" to my gutter mind today.

Don't feel bad--that's exactly what I saw when I first looked at it. Guess we're normal (if anyone in this group can be considered normal).

LOL!!! Now that you say!!! :lticaptd: :lticaptd: :lticaptd:

Rotring boob....that would be an interesting pen for sure! I guess it would take after the 600 too much

Haha! :D

A square grid guide sheet is always handy!

Taccia Savanna, Guider Large Ebonite, Conklin Endura, Diamond Pen Point Company Oversized Flat Top, Edison Collier, Mabie Todd Swan, Twsbi VAC700 with Waterman Hundred Year Pen nib. One Penpal Letter.

Is the pen closest to the viewer, the Taccia Savanna? Which ever that pen is, it is gorgeous and I will put it on my, "if I ever win the lottery, list".

Trying to catch up my neglected French notes with tea in a mug ideal for the day, but maybe not so ideal for the language! Frankenpen is a Unique Junior with Onoto De La Rue nib and adapted clip from a kit, ink is Ancient Copper, photographer is mediocre.

Mmmmmm, this is gorgeous. Lucky you to be able to play with it before you get your own. At least you will know what it is that you want when you order yours. :)

Platinum Izumo with Fine nib in "Sora tamenuri" finish. (It's a brownish-green)

Inked up with Iroshizuki Tsukushi.

This pen truly is enormous but very light. It writes like a dream. I realize I prefer the President nib to the 3776 nib in Platinum's line-up.

I've wanted this one (in the red) for quite some time now. It looks beautiful. What do you like better about the President's nib?

i have nothing but awe for Houston's gorgeous Romillo. And a great review, too!

I've been filling a journal with thoughts for a son getting married, eleven days into a thirty day journal I'll present him at his wedding next month. I have all these pens inked at the moment - yikes! I'm planning on using a different pen and ink each day but my desk is really getting crowded.

SNAK, that Nakaya looks better in your photos than I've ever been able to achieve, and your writing looks great! I'm glad you are enjoying the loan - I know the pen is!
