These are my newest additions to my Visconti family. The Opera Honey Almond is my new favorite pen. Looks almost as good as it writes....

I'm a huge Visconti fan, and I love these :) I am still kicking myself for not picking up the Honey Almond for a great price at a pen show when I had the chance. Enjoy your lovely new pens! :)

That ink looks delicious

I've been using my Rangas today. I've had a thing for these for a while, but the nibs that come with them are terrible, even with smoothing. I know you can get them with Schmidt units now, but that takes away the fun for me. It's a big adventure to find an old flexy nib that will fit every new one I get.

--

Thanks for your compliment on the green ink. :) Unfortunately my mixtures are always "a bit of this, a bit of that" so I can never recreate the same mix the second time. I only do 3 or 4mls at a time so it won't last long.

Tops off please . . . :)

Oh my, that is real nib p**n! :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01:

I love collecting those vintage nibs too! They are so much fun to play with. I love what you did there.

Lamy 2000 mith my own attempt at nib grinding

Nice line width variation. I think you did great!

Two very opposite pens. I just put a new sac in the Sheaffer last night for the first time. The Parker is one of my favorites.

I particularly like that line from your Parker 51. Looks like a juicy writer. I'm sure Aurora Black helps towards that too. Great combination!

Coincidentally, earlier today i self-ground my Lamy 2000 broad nib to something close to a medium. Wasn't as difficult as i iniitially thought. Will give it a test run tomorrow. Early results encouraging.

Please show us the result when you can. I am too chicken to grind anything by myself so I am very keen to see how people do it and their result.

Sounds good. I´ll be keeping an eye on this thread for an update.

Final bottom left of pic. Original line in Sailor Gentle Blue Black ink. The broad was super-smooth but just too broad for me.

That looks good. You really did manage to tame it.

Found a page of quotes from Montaigne I had written out a while back. Rewrote a few with the pens I'm using today.

The Pelikan m200 with 250 nib is using Private Reserve Sherwood Green

The Sheaffer vacuum fill Sovereign is using Diamine Blue Velvet

The Lamy Joy 1.1mm (always at the desk at work) is using a black ink mixture with bits of Aurora, Parker Penmen Ebony and Quink black

I've only recently been learning a tiny bit about the Soviet Pens. Very cool set!

Oh nice work! It looks like you closed up on the flow of ink too for the Medium grind. What tools did you use to do all this?

I like these pens! Is this one like a homage to Parker 51?
