Mostly successful, I think. Need to adjust exposure a bit, and see if I can eliminate a hot-spot/shadow or two, but this is far better than my recent snaps, and it's not more than an additional 30-60 seconds effort to set up.

Can you please post a picture of your setup/environment?

Oh wow... real pen-envy here...

This is a grail pen for me... A Kullock's exclusive Parker 51 ... I love the color and cap and nib... and I would love to find me something similar.. Mustard yellow... YUMMM!!!!

You would be VERY happy with the mustard colored Kullock 51 when it is filled with Kwizi "Old Gold" I call it a "nice match" in mine!

This is one of the nicest nib/pen/ink/paper/handwriting combinations I have seen

Which ink are you using?

Thank you! I use Iroshizuku tsuki-yo on Rhodia paper.

I am searching for a mustard yellow ink. Couldn't find out where to buy Kwizi "Old Gold", or maybe even better Kwisi Honey (doesn't the Honey exist any more?), so I have ordered Noodler's golden brown and Diamine Sunshine yellow just to see if they can match this pen. I thing it deserves a special ink.

I received the Old Gold during the group buy BUT after seeing HONEY I just ordered some more inks from him to include it. I used the PM to send my request after not getting a response to the addresses I had used. He promptly responded & I have 4 bottles on their way. His email address is: info@kwizink.com & if you choose to PM him his user name is "kwizi." I was most surprised by the modest shipping charge for the 4 bottles of ink & only last week when I ordered the Honey was available. I am sure you would be happy with the ink for your pen if either of yours don't suit you.

I also am envious of your Kullock cap. Mine is merely a hammered gold filled one & I certainly think the truly handmade ones he does with the different metals are the nicest. The "snail" pen that is a desk holder is pretty sharp as well! Thanks again for sharing your beauty with us.

Hi Houston.

My idea about a very simple set up would be a strong desklamp. Then you would need a diffuser. For that I am thinking about either a thin white hanky, or calque-paper (tracing paper?). Perhaps you could use one of these rings they use tin embroidering (to stretch the cloth in) so you can fixate your "diffuser"

Two very opposite pens. I just put a new sac in the Sheaffer last night for the first time. The Parker is one of my favorites.

Lamy 2000 mith my own attempt at nib grinding...

Coincidentally, earlier today i self-ground my Lamy 2000 broad nib to something close to a medium. Wasn't as difficult as i iniitially thought. Will give it a test run tomorrow. Early results encouraging.

Oh Wow, Perry. The Newton is nice enough... but the Gentleman.... :puddle:

What nib's on that, seems quite broad. Stub?

Quite a few Sheaffer pens on show, very nice! This is my contribution for the day.

The green portholes are ink window at the back end of the pen.

Pen: Pelikan P1 with OBB nib (c.1958-63)

Ink: Diamine Apple Glory and Private Reserve Spearmint mixture (plus a bit of surfactant)

Paper: Tomoe River (White)

That ink looks delicious

I've been using my Rangas today. I've had a thing for these for a while, but the nibs that come with them are terrible, even with smoothing. I know you can get them with Schmidt units now, but that takes away the fun for me. It's a big adventure to find an old flexy nib that will fit every new one I get.
