Today I received my Sheaffer PFM V with a fine nib, bought from Penamie. What a lovely pen! Exactly what I was waiting for. Definitely a daily writer.

It matches mine!!! I think yours is writing a little dry though, mine is (possibly) too wet.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

A beautiful example of a very hard-to-find pen!

Oh, that nib is gorgeous! The pen too, I would say after my Parker 51 awakening.

According to a handy-dandy inflation calculator I just found, $10 in 1962 was worth a little over $78 in 2014, if you figure inflation using the Consumer Price Index. Of course, some things have gone up more. The $75 list price I paid for a Montblanc 149 in 1967 is now $935.

I make that 5.40% annual inflation for Montblanc versus 4.03% for CPI. Gold went from $35 in 1967 to $1,451 in 2013 (source) which makes for 8.43% CAGR if my math is right. So if about 30% of the price of a pen is the gold nib and increases in cost with the raw material and the rest of the pen increases in cost with the CPI, then Montblanc is spot-on with the price?

(Of course the gold nib would not have been a constant fraction of the overall costs but we leave developing a more realistic model as an exercise for the reader.)

I am no longer very active on FPN but feel free to message me. Or send me a postal letter!

I'll have a bet on the drop on the right reaching the bottom first... :D Amazing stuff, Ptero.

Today a pre-loved Worcester Pen Co which is probably an "Orion", but I don't, alas, know what the acrylic colour is called. Nib ground by Oxonian, according to the seller. Long pen, but I like it muchly except for one glaring problem; I keep stopping to gaze into its acrylic depths.

Either I can get the ink, of I can get the pen. Both, so far, escapes me. Sigh.

Indeed. I spent months searching for a burgundy V. I guess the grey ones are even more difficult to find.

My utility set up for work: large Moleskine, Pilot Prera M nib, Noodler's Bulletproof Black.

You can see some serious bleed through which was my test with a Lamy Safari and Iroshizuku Shin-Kai which is a combo that does not work here.

Such lovely acrylic! I'm the same with those deep resins. I cannot help but keep staring into them, delighting at a flash of shimmer at every turn. The colours are gorgeous in this one. So Autumnal

This isn't on FPN, but here's a guide I find helpful:

http://www.shopify.com/blog/12206313-the-ultimate-diy-guide-to-beautiful-product-photography

"One can not waste time worrying about small minds . . . If we were normal, we'd still be using free ball point pens." —Bo Bo Olson

"I already own more ink than a rational person can use in a lifetime." —Waski_the_Squirrel

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.
