All this pen pron makes me so happy. Not only are the pens beautiful but there are some inks that have been posted that are truly spectacular.

Oh, man, Houston. What a nib!!!

I could easily see a composer having his vest pocket pen fitted with a music nib so as to be able to jot down ideas wherever he (or she) would find themselves.

I find the vest pocket sized still quite nice to write with, but you have to post it. I've never seen a Sheaffer music nib from this period. Really incredible. Thanks so much for sharing, and feel free to bring it back anytime!

Just added a vintage music nib to my bucket list

Yes, I spent quite some time grinding on that one. It was worth the effort.

I am working on this one now. I just picked this one up off ebay and am restoring it. I have finished everything except buffing the cap. I couldnt buff any more without stopping to ink it up and play with it. :D

Beautiful pen and nib and writing! I have a Pelikan 400 tortoise with an OBB nib. Oblique nibs are quite interesting. My writing style, the angle of the nib make the horizontal line thicker and the vertical line thinner. Completely different from the stub nibs. Really challenging.

I just put together a desk pen set for myself: A Parker 21/51/45 base made of Brazilian green onyx, and a Pilot Mokume (wood pattern resin) EF pen. I am in love!

I am a sucker for desk pens, too! Love the Pilot. I've never seen the Mokume before. Where did you get your hands on that beauty?

eBay!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/PILOT-Namiki-Brand-New-Wood-Pattern-Desk-Fountain-Pen-High-Quarity-Nib-Japan-/261871293565?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cf8bed47d The seller was very friendly and shipped quickly--it even arrived within a week.

I'm actually getting ready to do some journalling with said pen here at my desk. :D The extra fine nib is great for use on even cheap, absorbent papers I find to be filling all these pretty lined journals. (I've been a sucker for lovely covers, rather than paper quality, for too long.. oi.) But at least this pen can be used to fill them up, and I can move on to my Clairefontaine and Tomoe River papers permanently. Squee!

I bumped into an old fountain pen related friend of mine today. Some of you may have met her. Seagull used to visit this thread a long time ago. One day she headed east and disappeared. Today she turned up, with the same "soft heart" as she always had, soft as iron. Turns out she has been in Siberia. Seagull, I'm happy to see you too:

Hi Line,

great to see Seagull is back.

Also her old "friend" Eagle shows up again.

He found a way out of middle earth (I don´t know if you followed the thread when he chased Mrs. Frosty and finally stranded in Middle Earth).

Maybe also his companions made it out from there, I don´t know yet.....

At least Eagle seems to remember Seagull....... ;)

I finally got an Ohashido

gorgeous. I love these pens. I've never actually held one. Some day.

Meanwhile, I've been trying to take my first very tentative baby steps in learning how to write with my Conklin Crescent #25. First attempts at a flexible nib. I can see the draw. Of course comparing this to some of y'all on this thread is like comparing a garden slug to a race horse, but I figure I've got to start somewhere.

Wonderful job on the nib, 00photo! Amazing layering of ripples. Makes me wonder how all the layers were made.

2015 last pen.

Nice white Ondoro pen! And you went for the red ink in the white pen. Next you must try purple inks in it. ;)

DrDebG Lovely selection of inks you have there. And the deckle-edge on that paper is very nice!

AAAndrew I see you are having fun with your flex nib. Did you use an iron gall ink in the pen? The shading is very pleasing.

Actually, the ink is nothing more than Sheaffer Blue. I've been pleasantly surprised with how well it's worked with the flex nib. In a regular nib it was never terribly special, but when the nib was touched up by Ron Zorn at the recent Triangle pen show, he filled it with Sheaffer Blue. Since I had some at home, I've just continued using it.
