J & N Atramentis: The Rouge Navy Across The Stormy Atlantic

Zdez Zaphareon

Recommended Posts

So I got bored and I had some samples left and I decided to mash them up and the result was a beautiful dark purple. The mix is equal parts of: Rouge hematite, stormy grey, de atramentis Atlantic blue and noodler's Navy. The gold sparkle is outrageous as expected. I just loved it.

It flows ok and with a fine ef twsbi it still looks very pretty. I imagine that with a wetter nib the gold flare will pop-up even more. Water resistance is legible but it does get really washed out. I'll try to get some decent pictures so you can get what shade of purple this is. Cheers

Wow, that's a whole new dimension of purple!

I hope that helps! Great stuff you did and welcome aboard.

You can upload the images here on FPN (see the upper left hand corner), or you can link to your photos (right click - save URL - then click on the little picture icon and paste the URL into the dialog box).

:0 thanks! Now they can see the pictures without having to go to a link <3 I mainly browse the forums on my phone so it's not quite the simple to upload them, but I'll try next time.

That is one amazing color.... :puddle:

I do have one question, though -- which version of Rouge Hematite did you use? I've got a bottle with the big flakes in it, but I understand that there was one batch that didn't have them at all, and I'm not sure what the third iteration is like.

I'm really not sure, I bought it on Amazon and it's the first bottle of ink I had. I suppose it's the most recent batch.

Zdez, You've single-handedly just instigated the addition of Rouge Hematite and Stormy Grey to my wishlist. Your ink mix takes them both into a region of every-day colour I'd use and really enjoy - the originals just weren't my type. Thanks for experimenting!

Edited: off the wishlist, samples ordered already.

Hahaha I know that feeling. I still have like 90 samples to order, my wallet is not ready yet :v and I want to order a Ne when first. Hope you like it and I recommend using a fine-medium or a medium nib to get a dark color like in the pictures or basically a wet nib. Cheers
