Amazon Uk Carene Craziness

Quick heads up to anyone interested. As of now several (many) of the Medium Carenes, including one of the metal variety, are listed at 90 Pounds (around 119 USD / shipping to the US will add - if I remember correctly - around $12 or so.). I myself am going to pass as the Carene medium is a bit two wide a line for my taste, and the last one I got from Amazon UK is a bit off (flow issues). Others have reported good results. YMMV. One note: I tried twice to contact Waterman for warranty work on my Carene and got no response. Conversely, I have an Exception Slim in Fine and it is amazing.

I ended up getting one of these Carene's from Amazon UK with a med nib. Its built very solidly and the nib is wet and very smooth. An excellent pen!

Thank you for the heads up. I've seen positive posts for the seller, typicaly on his Delta sales. My only concern is that it seems his stand alone site does not have SSD enabled when registering (only http, not https). That was for the registration stage - I did not go further. Not sure if that matters. I checked his ebay prices (which are a little higher than his own site) and think I would feel more comfortable ordering there. Unless someone can correct me on what I am seeing vis a vis secure ordering on his site. Anyway, thank you for the tip. I'm a little gun shy to get another Carene (as it has problems), and with Waterman not responding to my email requests. But, my Exception Slim in Fine has been writing like a dream - my favorite at present. They are lovely pens - both the Carenes and Exceptions, just wish my Carene's flow was better.

Great prices indeed! Only disadvantage is that you cannot see the pens in person, and try before you buy.
