Well, that's always a relief.

The 2014 Al-Star Blue-Green, 2011 Safari Lime Green (different shade of lime green than the 2015 LE, by the way) and the three (eek!) Reforms all arrived. So, now I'm only waiting on a 2010 Coffee Al-Star and I think I'll stop for a while.

 

Right.

 

I mean, I don't really need a Lamy 2000 even though I think they're sexy and, honestly now, do I really need to start collecting all of the Al-Star and Safari SEs and LEs I've missed over the years? I mean...seriously.

 

No, that's it. I'm done. For sure. This time.

I ordered a Pelikan Cafe Creme from Italy and an Esterbrook Transitional Blue located in another Chicago suburb on the same day. Guess which one showed up in only four days, and which one is still somewhere in Chicago. Haha..hah...

My seventh Parker 51 just arrived.

 

I'm waiting for vintage Morrison pens and a yellow Parker Big Red that I will fit with Sheaffer No-Nonsense nibs.

I just got a Faber-Castell Ambition OpArt Black Sand (what a long name, sigh), so now I have all the OpArts. I have never been one to collect all colors of a type of pen, but there's something I really like about the Ambition. I now have 7, eep.

 

I have a package in the mail with some pens coming back from repair at Anderson Pens -- an Esterbrook SJ and a Retro 51 Scriptmaster II. I just recently bought the Scriptmaster -- it had been sitting at Appointments for years -- and I really like it, but the cap wouldn't close properly. All fixed up now.

 

And I just got a message from Appelboom -- my Visconti Rainbow has shipped. Woo-hoo! Now just the excruciating wait...

After adding a few quality Chinese pens (Jinhao) to my collection this summer, I ordered a Sailor 1911 Large with a M nib. I should get it next week along with a bottle of Iroshizuku ink. If it writes as good as my Sailor Pro Gear Sapporo music nib, I will be on cloud 9

I was waiting for the Pelikan M215 in the elusive blue with palladium stripes....

 

Corresponded with a customer service rep (vendor is an online store, not an individual) last week about shipping costs. Everything hunky-dory, placed the order last night, and today I get an email saying the pen is not in stock. I'm not surprised as I expect they simply failed to update their website after they sold the last of their stock.

 

What did surprise me, however, is what I was told when I asked why they hadn't checked for stock when I inquired about shipping last week. "The item was discontinued on Monday." Good grief.

 

Now I will have to pay any difference in foreign exchange rates (plus commission) between the price billed to my credit card and the amount refunded. It's peanuts, but it's annoying. Could have bought a bottle of ink...

Awaiting acknowledgement of receipt and restoration of four Parker 51s that I sent to Parker51.com yesterday. The 51s are pickups from antiquing and just keeping a careful eye out for that distinctive pen profile over the past few years. They've been sitting in my pen portfolio waiting for me to get to the job but time has become a luxury for me and so off they went to Mr. P51 in Utah.

 

Now to get to some of those letters that need to be written...

Heeeyy, I use those cases too! I just had one arrive today as well.

 

And my blue Transitional Estie arrived today. Gotta open it up and clean it out, and get a new sac for sure. We'll see about the j-bar when I get it open. My Serwex flex pen from India should be here tomorrow, as tracking says it's in the area. Whee!

Greetings all,

 

I have taken the plunge and purchased another Lamy 2000 with a B+ nib. It is a special order so will take a week or so to arrive.

 

Meantime, this little gem has just landed and is yet unused.... which ink should it be used with is holding me up at the moment. Noodler's Apache Sunset or Diamine Autumn Oak look like good contenders.
