Trick it out, TeaHive! I remember the way you did the extreme makeover on the Preppy.

Goulet Pen Co. had a buy one get one Jinhao special, so I'm getting three different models, and three "sparkly pens." Looking forward to saying ni hao to the Jinhaos.

Haha! I still use that Preppy quite often. I still don't think the cap is quite as snug as it needs to be (stupid, unfixable crack...), as it has some drying issues. But a couple shakes gets it going again.

If I didn't already have the Shimmering Sands version, I definitely would have taken advantage of that sale by now! The red one does look mighty nice.

I took advantage of the BOGO deal at Goulet Pens to order a Jinhao 159 to get the shimmering sands X750 for free. I already have one X450, so I opted not to get another and to get two models I don't own instead. They've been shipped, along with more ink samples and some ink syringes, so I'll probably get them by the end of the week.

I'm waiting on a Conklin Mark Twain Crescent (orange, stub) that was so cheap on Massdrop I couldn't resist! And then they wrote to offer me another 10 bucks off because they couldn't fulfill black nibs, only silver. Sure, I'll take it even cheaper!

Still waiting for a couple of cheapy Jinhaos to arrive but starting to worry they may have gone missing in the mail system.

Decided to step out the Pelika... ahem, the comfort zone a bit and i fall in love with another Germany pen. The color is just too beautiful to resist.

Beside that baby, my waiting list is getting longer and longer:

- An old Pelikan 101N, green with 14c M nib.

- A Pelikan M605 blue with custom ground italic nib,

- A Pelikan M805 blue with M nib.

Parker 45 coronet, green/copper brown, mint. This is what it looks like (pic from pen collect).

Wow, that's one of the prettiest P45s I have seen...

What nib?

Steel "X" nib (extra fine) in the pen.

However, I have a very smooth 14k gold X nib that I may use instead in this pen. It probably will go better with the gold trim.

So you like them X? I have some M and F and one lovely italic nib!

Great pens, they don't make them to that any more!

I love them P45's X. All my solid gold X's write wetter than the steel ones though. My writing is small so Parker X and Japanese F are what I usually use.

Pens have a lot of personality. Once upon a time it annoyed me. Now, I enjoy them, especially when a pen's behavior reminds me of someone I know. Your Preppy reminds me of many of my running buddies: Stupid, unfixable crack. Give 'em a couple shakes, and they begin to function again.

I'm enjoying a red and black X450 today with Noodler's Black Swan in Australian Roses. Heavy pen. Writes nice. The ink looks good.

Maybe they're looking for Amy Earhart.

Yeah, he cranks some cool pens. I enjoyed the video at fosforpens.com. I'll probably commission a driftwood pen and call it "Mugatu Derelicte"

Noodlers Ahab. It was cheap and I just gotta have some flex.

Everybody needs flex. I'm a left-handed overwriter, and I putt around with a couple Noodler's Konrads writing left-handed underwriting. The writing looks spastic, but I enjoy the pooling, shading, and line variation. Can never use it for work, but it's good for a few minutes of amusement now and again.
