Got a blue Platinum Plaisir in the mail from Japan 6 days earlier than I expected. Basically an aluminum skin for a Preppy. Lotta fun to write with. Already used it to help me think through a tight fix. Keyboards make your head soft. "You're my boy, Blue!"

I ordered 2 Jinhao 950 in white procelain, one for my daugther (dragon) and another one for me (bamboo). I have been looking at those pens for months but they always came 2nd on my list of pens to buy. I always though they were a bit expensive, for a Chinese pen, at $25.00 US plus freight.

I have found them at under $8.00 US each, freight included, on Ebay. They are on their way.

Cheers,

Pierre

That's a beauty. I have the fountain pen around here somewhere in a box. I never filled it. I still can't decide what ink to use.

Thank you :) Oh, you need to fill it up and have at it! Mine is currently inked with Iroshizuku Tsutsuji and I love the contrast with the white and the green. I hope you enjoy it!

TWSBI 580 with an Oxonian Cursive Italic 0.7mm :) :) :)

And an italic/left oblique Parker 51 nib for my Parker 51 (I don't know exactly, seller claims it's a fine italic but it looks more like a left oblique to me, look: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/OTAwWDE2MDA=/z/O6UAAOSwv0tVZa~Z/$_57.JPG?rt=nc

huh...the shag carpeting makes it quite difficult to tell, doesn't it? However, I think I see a tiny piece of carpet covering part of the tine, and the angle it's sitting at does make it look oblique, but I think it might just be a regular italic. ETA - either way, it will be a surprise :D

An italic would be amazing, so would a left oblique :) However, I bought it as a 'fine italic' and I hope that it is! Can't wait till my P51 can be used again :) :)

A couple of Pilot 78G's from Todd...I like the way they write and he had a nice sale on them.

Maybe me and a Lamy Studio will get along better this time. Just got in a very slightly used brushed aluminum model, w/ a F 14K nib. The rubberized section is much more preferable than the shiny chrome version, IMHO. I filled it with a Lamy cartridge--turquoise. Liking the pen a lot so far.

CURRENT STABLE:

Nice! I love Lamy's gold nibs, but I cannot stand that grip on the regular studios. Just too tapered and smooth for my slick hands. Maybe I should check out the aluminium model. Glad you're liking it! :)

I'm a specialist photographer — I spend ages planning my shoot ... and then my images render beautiful objects as dull, dreary smudges. I gaze enviously at some of the wonderful photos on FPN and long to be able to match their quality. I'll post some photos, but please don't live in too much expectation of artistic merit!

Finally gave in and ordered a pilot custom 823 with a F nib. Its been about 4 hours or so since i ordered it and i already feel the need to check my mailbox. sigh.

Estimated Delivery Date: June 18

It arrived today, a full 10 days before it was estimated. Thats way faster than any pen before it, impressive.

The pen is inked out and working perfectly. I´m really impressed with it, easily as impressive as an MB 146 imho.

Yeah, the estimated delivery times usually is pretty accurate for me so you can imagine my surprise when i got the call from the mailman :)

Of the versions available i liked the brown version the best so that is what i got. When it is fully inked its actually not that easy to tell that it is brown unless you put it next to a black pen.

The F nib is the smallest nib point i own to date, and i must say it is a pleasure to use. Glad i decided to go with that one. (I was really tempted to try the FA nib on it)

Franklin Christoph 40 Panther.

This is a sub-full(medium?)-sized pen with a very deep, brilliantly designed cap. The cap posts quite deeply onto the barrel so that posted length is not much more than capped length.

It is currently on a limited production run. I got an invitation to purchase on Wednesday night, paid Thursday and received it 6000+ miles away yesterday at no extra cost.

That's one of the very best surprises, I think :) Good to know about the brown. I've been trying to decide which colour to get myself.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it!

That's an interesting cap and the colours are neat! I've never used an FC pen, so I have no idea what they are like. Are you enjoying it?

I have a thing for clear pens, so I opted for that version, even if I did have to order it from a company in Japan. It too got here fairly quickly. Because the writing experience was not quite as smooth as I would have preferred, I have since sent it off to Pendleton Brown, for a conversion to one of his Butter Line Stubs. He is also going to fine-tune the nib for better flow. I hope you enjoy yours. I can't wait to get mine back.
