Right now, I've got four pens ordered: a medium point Parker IM in black with gold trim, a medium point Pilot Prera in royal blue, a medium point Pelikan P200 in black with gold trim, and a stub nib Monteverde Impressa in gunmetal with red trim. Considering I also bought a lower-end Parker Sonnet and two Jinhao 250s recently, I think this is probably my last fountain pen purchase this year, if not longer. That's OK though, since I'm getting them more to write with than to collect. If some start to go out of use though, I may want to get a display case for them rather than putting them back in their original boxes; we'll see about that.

Two Waterman ringtops - word seems not to have gotten around about the specialness of the New York nibs. On one of them I was the only bidder.

Same here but with a broad. :)

(No offence meant, just a very silly thought that popped into my head when I read that....Law & Order on tv may have something to do with it....)

Sitting with 'a broad'....... titter.......

Where else, but with FP can one get away with saying "I like a broad, but sometimes I feel like having a double broad".

Still waiting on a Waterman Expert that USPS was supposed to attempt redelivery on last Friday. Weekends kill me.

Around here, redelivery is shorthand for "come get it your damn self". They won't even bother if you miss it the first time around.

Treated myself to a Nakaya for my birthday. It will probably arrive next week. I went for the decapod twist, no clip, with a soft fine nib. I chose the Ao-Tamenuri finish because it spoke to me in photographs, but not having seen it in person I am a little bit worried about it. Fingers crossed.

Lucky you. That´s a pen I´m hoping to get some day.

I hope it lives up to your expectations.

I'm almost certain I'm about to have to go down there tomorrow. Four delivery days have come and gone and I'm losing my mind.

Okay. I know Diplomat is not a glamorous brand. The Classic Collection pens tend to be a little heavy, usually lacquer over brass, and their nibs are not known for flex. That being said, my first fountain pen, about eleven years ago, was a black Diplomat.

I have since acquired a few and when I saw one of their sterling silver-plated marbled gray lacquer pens on eBay, I jumped in and got it fairly inexpensively. It arrived today.

So, as I was further surfing the 'bay, I saw one of the wood pens they made for Tiffany (with an 18K nib, no less). Once again, I jumped in feet first. This time, however, although I was the high bidder, I didn't make the reserve price.

Well guess who got a 'second chance' offer? Yours truly. So I now impatiently await another Diplomat in the mail.

I am interested to know the difference between your highest bid and the second chance offer, if you please....

if you don't want to talk money, a percentage is OK too...

And some pics when both arrive would be nice. As you said, Diplomat is not a glamorous brand and gets little coverage here, although these pens are reported to be sturdy and comfortable user pens. So do place them in the floodlights....

I pulled the trigger on a TWSBI 580 AL Orange with Pendelton's BLS in bold. My Fuyu-Gaki has to live _somewhere_, right?!?

Just when I thought I was done purchasing for a while and using my new Pilot Custom 823, I find myself waiting for a Sailor 1911 Realo Cross Concord Emperor to come in the mail. This hobby is just as bad as how the cost of watch that goes on my hand has expoenetiionally increased. I do hope this trend stops or at least takes a hiatus for a while after this purchase.

Just my opinion but it would not be beneficial to know the $ difference or percentage as that is an offer made by the seller. Every seller is different and he just wanted it sold instead of relisting. It is essentially relisting with a lower reserve but without having to wait for the auction to end.
