Hello Sir....

 

Your are giving new life to the old pens .... . I am also trying to do the same thing. I try to found out old fountain pens and restore them. So far I could find only Hero fountain pens in Hyderabad. Some of them write well and some do not after restoration.

 

Some one from Hyderabad, please advise me where to get old fountain pens apart form pathergati.

Sanyal: I have the teal coloured Camlin 47. I was not expecting much from it. Scratchy nib & leaky cheap pen. Not so!

On my example the nib is quite amazing. I don't know it that is normal or not, but it's smoothness is second only to my Waterman Expert I. The Camlin's nib is India Fine, not European Medium. So you would not really expect such smoothness.

I have not dismantled the piston from the barrel as I was afraid to ruin such a brilliant writer.

The piston action was very stiff & I had intended to apply a very light smear of Silicone grease.

I am tempted to buy another just to see if the first one was a 'freak'. What is the price in Rupees of this pen in India? I don't know the retail price means it is cheap or expensive for an Indian pen.

The value of the thing is also that it is far less prone, if not immune to the burping an Eyedropper pen can do.

The pen is cheap in India as well. When you say it leaks, where does it leak from??
