The photo reminds me of Pilot/Iroshizuku Momiji or Tsutsuji. Have you put those next to Andromeda?

No, but on certain papers it’s not far off yama-budo.

Oh, so many gorgeous pinks!

My absolute favorite so far is Robert Oster's Pinky. I love that it's a great shader (can't really see it sorry, had to use a dip pen and a glass pen because of course I just rotated out the color 2 days ago) and it has a sort of dusky feel to it. At least for me.

Good job.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I don't use a lot of pink inks, but I'm quite fond of this one: Krishna AZAELIA (unusual spelling —in honor of Azaelia Banks?!)

My guess is that Amberlea will enjoy its extra retina-searing intensity! ;)

Lamy Vibrant Pink.

This is not a bad pink. It is middle of the road for saturation. The scan is more saturated than real life.

I can think of more vibrant pinks - the first that comes to mind is the (now discontinued) Private Reserve Hot Bubble Gum Pink, which held the crown for indelible stainer long before Bay State Blue came on the scene. I have some pens in my collection permanently stained by HBGP ink.

Monteverde Rose Pink.

This is a very unusual ink. It has a sky blue halo in the ink blot, around the edges where the ink has pooled. This isn't sheen, I think it's a dye component separating out.

The scanner captures the ink with more magenta than in real life.

I like this ink a lot due to the complexity of the colors. Your scan really brings that out visually.

For me, the color tends to be much more pale baby pink than in your scan, and it's one of those inks that goes on almost faint it's so pale, and then it deepens as it dries.

I like inks that are weird like that... ;)

Yes in your writing sample to me it looks much paler.

Yes, all of this is my experience too. I've never seen an ink that behaves quite like this one. I'm not a big pink ink user - I got this as swag at the LA Pen Show and grabbed it because I wouldn't normally buy this ink - but now I will have to find some use for it!

I only have a few of the pinky inks. Or are they violet? I have a difficult time trying to find the right category...

Colors are truer in the writing sample than the swatches, where one can see a true gradient of colors.

Right. I have found that using a cotton swab for a swatch makes the ink much lighter, so I am experimenting with a paint brush, and it seems to give a truer reading of the color. I'll have to try a comparison to see if I'm right... ;)
