Informal Review - Speedball Auto Level Filler - Nib Pen

I have some Estie nibs, but not a Brause. I just loaned the pen to Sinistral1, perhaps she can comment?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I'm packing the pen over to my local art supply store that has Brause, Speedball, Hunt, etc. nibs, to see which ones will work. I shall report my findings.

It is, indeed, a very cool pen - large, too.

I've wanted a Spoors too. This is much cheaper.

How much are these worth? I have no idea how to price pens like these or any vintage pens really.

Looks like they range from $15-50 on ebay, but most will need to be resaced.

I saw one that ended at 4 dollars plus shipping but I couldn't bid on it so i let it slide... I also would probably break it if i tried to restore it so ill probably buy one from someone at FPN sometime later rather than traverse the fleabay.

I was wondering what you found out, I just purchased one of these. Once I check the sack I will be nterested to know which nibs work with this pen :)

you will find speedball nibs on ebay ,as the small brass tube delivers ink just under the overfeed, other nibs wont work, therefore I managed to tinker overfeeds with tin taken from snapcans ,and eventually succeeded to use other nibs brands of the same size .

I have not tried the other nibs in the pen - got a little side tracked. However, I agree that any same sized nib that has a top reservoir and fits in a standard nib holder should work. Most good art supply stores should have a large selection of Speedball nibs, including some for lefties.

Are there flexible nibs that fit it?
