Introduction

Hello again folks.

Once again it's an image heavy post but in my opinion the more detailed the pictures the better. Now I don't have a scanner, but I do have a reasonable camera. I've decided to move to the Rhodia 'Ice' grid pads for the next tests after these, I find my handwriting improves more on the grids than the dots. Thumbnail images are 1024 along the long edge and all images are links to full resolution images so click away, it's worth it.

Important Notes

1) Feathering... The art pad seems to feather in a number of odd locations with all the inks in flex nibs, I'll have to put that down to the nibs tearing some fibres or similar.

2) Cleaning... It looks like I was pre-emptive in my written comment. It appeared to clean out ok on first flushes but then it lingered in all pens requiring some sitting, flushing etc and even then towards the end there was still some bright orange residue still exiting in to the flush water. I would upgrade it to medium/annoying but not hard/stubborn/frustrating/

3) As always, my apologies for the few spelling/writing mistakes, I need to slow down more. Or drink less caffeine. It's improving!

So... Iroshizuku Fuyu-Gaki. It's a rather unique ink and deserves it's name. Being an unusual pinky peachy pastel colour in drier nibs but a darker very saturated reddy orange in wet nibs. It's one of those that I can't decide on but I'm erring on the side of 'might use it once in a while, maybe'. I originally picked it up along with my order of the Edison Collier in Winter Persimmon finish, yes I'm that basic, the names were the same so why the hell not :) Will I buy another bottle when this one is empty... no, I don't think so as there are other oranges/reds that fit my preference and the pinky side is not something I use regularly.

Is it the great red spot of Jupiter? No... it's the inner whirlings of Fuyu-gaki!

All I can say is, "wow!" What an amazing set of reviews and comparisons. Thank you so much for taking the time to share them with us!

I just cleaned the Fuyu-gaki out of the TWSBI Diamond 580AL I used to test with; it looks great in the demonstrator. (I then immediately loaded it with next month's ink, another pinky/red color... which also looks great.)

Thank you for posting these! They're great!

I especially like the ghost.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Holy cheeseballs GSteer, phenomenal review and thank you especially for the comparison between Fuyu -Gaki and Yu-yake.

I am also very jealous of your Nock case, that color combo is sold out on their site. :)
