Your Most Beautiful Pen Is . . .

Looking at wspohn's Man 100s, I shake my head at wonder why Waterman ever discontinued them. Sure glad I have mine (but not quite so fancy as his).

Charles, I agree completely, and can't figure why Waterman stopped making the L'Etalons as well.

I am fortunate to have the plain black Man 100, as well as two Operas and the solid 18k FP and ballpoint.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

Mine's a plain black, too. Simply beautiful. Some years back I was going to buy the Sterling Silver and to my horror found out the Man 100 was history.

I was reluctant to shell out for the Etoile - Andy Lambrou told me I should and that the price was fair but I chickened out - took me another 2 years to stiffen my resolve and find another one. They only made 1,000 of them. Glad I took the advice - I see there is one for sale now at far, far more than I would have paid - see ebay # 161518160535

I also have an Arlequin and an Opera, as well as a sterling in the Godron (the one with the black ends) as well as a full sterling in godron pattern (they had more than one all sterling version, but I can't afford to collect one of each!) I do like the clean simplicity of the smooth version though.

I like the full sterling so much I grabbed a ball point when I had the chance at a good price.

I like the Exception too, but the caps don't post and I am a poster. I have a sterling one, nonetheless, as well as an Etalon. I also have a Parker Esparto (solid and quite heavy even in International size).

Don't pass by the Sheaffer Connoisseur - the sterling is nice and the nibs are excellent.

Your photos are killing me. I have a Connoisseur, but didn't grab the Sterling when I had the chance.

Only one remedy. As I don't do Ebay, I'm saving my pennies for a Sterling Meisterstuck. Just my luck, by the time I have the cash, they'll drop that one, too.

At the present time that would have to be my kuro-tamenuri Nakaya picollo with ruthenium nib.

Lovely pen, Jar. It would be a gem in any collection.

What a cornucopia of attractive pens. My most beautiful pen is the one I'm writing with. Each one looks different, feels different and writes different. Beauty is in the eye (and hand) of the beholder. As the saying goes, "Dance with the one that brung you"

Hey, Legal Eagle - saw all the valves beside your pens and figured you'd be British! There are a few Canadian tube users, although I am down to two ro three in my systems.

jar - on the Italianate theme, I can offer an Aurora 80th Anniversary

As much as I'd like to say Tortoise 400 or 800, or a Nakaya; at the end of the day it's my Conway Stewart Believer. Now if I could just learn to photograph pens...

Is that a Conway Stewart Belliver Bracket Brown?

I have that same pen, not only is it a beautiful pen equally a pleasure to write with. I love how even tho it is a Resin pen it still had some heft to it, thanks to the brass sleeve.

What size nib, mine is XF.

Mine is Italic Fine. I agree that the extra heft adds to the character. It took a little work, but it's an awesome pen to write with too.

Here's the review I did of it

They really are more Burgundy, so that shade (I get it on my screen too) is a photographic artifact.

I love the Bordeaux and have the FP, BP and RB versions as well as a 166 marker (high lighter). This image borrowed from a MB site shows the colour more accurately.
